A fall storm has brought blizzard conditions to Atigun Pass on the Dalton Highway and drivers are urged to be prepared.

The Alaska Department of Transportation issued a travel advisory Tuesday for the stretch of the highway at its high point in the Brooks Range, 4,739 feet, between Miles 241 and 247. High wind and snow are making travel difficult.

Farther north, snow, blowing snow, mud, slush, and blizzard conditions have made driving difficult between Miles 284-356. Expect hills to be icy and slick.

The advisory is in effect until Wednesday morning
