I don't have any "Lit-friends" either (no, this is not an invitation for any of yous to be sending me friendly PMs), but I still enjoy my time on this site, else I wouldn't bother logging in. I guess it's up to you really.

It's tougher than I thought to get any good banter around here. Why do females never pm?? C'mon! Let's be friends! Girl power or some shit! (and with that, all the feminists flip me the bird)

Shuffle between boards, and I'm sure you'll find people you like and sometimes you'll find people who you dislike and that's fun in its own way too.

If you are looking for friends, post in the Playground, play some games- they're fun and the people are friendly. And sometimes you even get good banter.

I'm still unsure what to anticipate on each board... I know The Lounge is scary and full of self-professed snobs (read so, verbatim). The SRP & Playground people seem very very flirtatious. I've been in BDSM Talk & Café a lot- seems to be a diverse mix. Plus I practice bdsm. (not trying to pigeon-hole anyone here, just saying, different boards for different folks with different m.o.'s) I honestly stayed away from HT because I thought it was only for asking How To questions. In fact I thought by posting to this thread, someone was going to get pissed off at me and tell me to scram. It's an off-shoot like the BDSM Café is to the Talk board, correct?

Generally speaking, most anything goes in any of the subforum chat areas..
Aside from those, Am Pics obviously revolves around pics - yours or others. You can chime in or create your own thread there and instantly get friends.
The Playground is the definition of light and fluffy (sometimes bordering on brainless) banter.
The General Board is pretty much for anything, but there are sharks in those water and they proudly eat their young. It can be fun, but it can also get old quickly.
The Fetish area is, obviously, based around different fetishes. That area is pretty non-intimidating.
Then, as you mentioned, you have BDSM. The subforum there is pretty light.
The author/story forums are kinda self-explanatory and deal with the writers, editors, or stories.

The HT section is a really good section. I rarely stray away from here. I find The Playground to have nice people, but a very different atmosphere and it's not what I personally enjoy.

The HT Cafe is filled with just a small number of folks who all get alone really well. I don't recall ever seeing anything negative there. It's very nice. We are a welcoming bunch.

The HT section is for help, but that doesn't mean banter and laughter isn't frowned upon by most. Some snark exists, but it's mostly lighthearted.

The leg-humpers frequently cruise the "Who's Online" list for feminine-sounding names and/or are more likely to PM someone who appears to be online vs. offline in hopes of getting some quick action.
