Iowa Supreme Court reaffirms dentist firing assistant because she is too attractive. He was afraid he would have an affair with her.

A small business owner should have the right to hire staff he or she feels comfortable working with. I believe even the racial employment laws allow for five or fewer employees to be exempt, and race is understandably the strictest category of civil rights laws. This obviously has nothing to do with race, so the business owners' rights should be even greater.

Would you want your dentist to be working with staff he/she doesn't feel comfortable working with? Is that good for your dental care?

I don't think the assistant ever had sex with him. I'd have to look again, but from what I remember he was sending her inappropriate texts.
