I will give it a try.
Camping trip in 2 weeks. Need all the help i can get! Or i'll come home looking like i have the measles :(

Oh my, you aren't kidding.

When I lived in Maine as a child we would be covered with bites in the summer.

Like fifty bites or more...

That's me! heck i was outside for 30 mins to an hour friday night and have 10

True randomness:

I skinny dip or be nude outside near dusk, no mosquito bites
As soon as I put on a shirt, I see big ones, with Maine license plates!

when i was married. My husband was in the Military. He was gone alot. I know that feeling well.

I don't know how the Navy wives deal with it. That has to be the worst...or actually the ones at war.

My dad is a retired prior enlisted officer, so I remember the swings and mids and tdy.

But it is harder with the h being gone, esp since we moved away from family and friends and such right after the promotion and with everything going on with our little one.

He is looking at other options though, so hopefully things will change and he won't be out of state for weeks at a time.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you guys!

You are so sweet, thank you.

I felt less lonely as a divorced mom than I ever felt in the last nine years.

and shockingly, other mothers can be cruel to a mom with a child with special needs.

Luckily, I am a warrior princess.

I do find that shocking! And makes me angry on your behalf! Evil bitches

The things people find to make themselves feel superior...

:(

I tell her not to focus on those that want to tear her down and focus on her defects but to focus on those that see her strengths.

I tell her to use those experiences to make herself stronger.

:rose:

I bet other than the skeeter bites you are looking forward to camping. :)

When I was the stay-at-home parent, I'd go to the park with my son almost every good day. I witnessed some odd behavior by some of the mothers, basically ostracizing the moms of special needs kids, keeping their own away as if their children could catch whatever was "wrong".

I taught my son, like I had been by both my parents, that not every child is like them. Some of them have bad mommies and daddies who think it's okay to mistreat children - and their parents as well - who have needs and aren't like you.

It's a disgusting way to live.

I have not been "real" camping but I would love to...

I love being outdoors.

My parents have a fifth wheel that we "camped" in and I have stayed in a log cabin.

My wife and my LIttle One think spending a night in a Red Roof Inn is camping.

I love being in a tent in the woods, with the sounds of bugs and critters and the campfire dying...though I do bring my own food: I don't like fish.

friends and i go at least twice in the summer. One is "real" camping tents and all. And the other we rent a condo on the lake and go boating, swimming, rent wave runners. As i get older i am discovering i am more partial to the condo weekend lol.
