So....who wants to come spend the night with me??

How did the rest of your night go? Sorry to hear that your safety is compromised by an idiot landlord. It's good that you can go to a safe place.

I will, we can have a sleep over and i'm 6" so I tend to scare bad guys away lol

Did you get the dress? I'm sure the guys wouldn't be scared off if you were wearing it. ;)

Not sure where you visited, but it's the norm here.

To be fair, the folks in NY are great too. Always enjoy my trips up that way and have one again later this month in fact.

Having lived in the Houston area for 12 years, I must say many guys were polite but it wasn't the rule. I do miss the drawl. :D

That's true.

My bone of contention with Texas men: When you're indoors, why is your hat still on?

Maybe they are nervous about their hat hair? Actually I didn't see that many men wearing hats in the Houston area. (Except during rodeo time). The Austin/Round Rock area is pretty though.

He's inbetween. A very sweet man, sometimes holds doors etc...if I'm not well:rolleyes:. Anyone broke into our house and he'd probably protect them from me hehe.

LOL! Aw, hon, that is funny but sad.

My experience exactly squire, with other small minded guys here as well and it wasn't only me they screwed with, I'm happy to be a stranger here.

Please don't be a stranger here?

Boys..play nice.

I'm really missing my time to add (useful but unsolicited :D) commentary..lol

Photo, I'm glad you're getting out. That's just not safe. I wish I could have stayed over with you. I'm pretty scary.

Really..
I am..

All 5'2" of me. *batts eyelashes*

Hell, if nothing else, I might could get them to split a side trying not to laugh??

I am over five foot eight and I find surprise attacks do wonders.

;)

Very true Mutato.

No INL I didn't get the dress....yet....I dunno. I have a male offering to buy it for me LMAO

RA it's good to see you and no one would dare laugh at you

It's not a Texas thing or an anywhere thing. I think it's likely a generational thing. Idiots and assholes are universal. ;) I grew up in southern AZ and it was hit or miss on how guys would act to their female "significant others". I was taught by my stepfather to respect and protect women too. Do everything that you mentioned above and I did that to the best of my ability during the 20+ years of my marriage. The respect wasn't always returned, especially over the past several years, but that's another story. I was also taught that a gentleman never hits a lady and I can unequivocally say that I never have. Of course I was also taught that a lady will never hit a gentleman and that once she does, she's no longer a lady and all bets are off. However, over the years, I have learned that there are exceptions to that rule when it's mutually agreed upon...

 Hi daddy M! Spankings perhaps?

I think you hit on something. Gentlemanly behavior is passed down from generation to generation. (And ladylike behavior too). It's sad that it's not being taught to lots of guys and gals.

Hmmm, I'd be tempted to take him up on it. And to let him treat you to a lovely evening so you can wear it.

Good morning RA! *pouncetacklehug* you've been missed! :rose:

Just because you might be short/petite/whatever doesn't mean you're a pushover. I've met quite a few "vertically-challenged" women, that given the opportunity, will give a 6'+ man pause for thought and reconsider his course of action. ;)

I hope things are settling down for you and your family! My prayers and happy thoughts are with you!

I'd say take him up on it unless the "price" is too steep. :)

Hi little one! Spankings are definitely one! :D My insistence is that it MUST BE MUTUAL! Otherwise it's simply abuse and never acceptable.

I've done my best to teach it to my (now adult) boys. I think some of what I taught has sunk in. It's very sad that many young men and women don't know how to simply be respectful. :( It's another one of my "soapbox" issues I have with our current society.

Y'all are cracking me up..

I'm actually a not-so-little spitfire. Short in stature, but can hold her own on a defensive line..:p

INL: I'm enjoying Texas, btw..not a fan of how large Houston is, but the suburbs are plenty "urban" for my tastes. My sister will turn me into a socialite...I feel like a train off her tracks.. Breakfast meeting... brunch..Dinner drinks.. Holy Shizzy.... :D

On the up side I might have that job!!! yeah!!!

My one comment on the gentlemen vs jerks: Doesn't matter. It depends on how you were raised, not where. It's all about a man knowing when to turn his gentleman swag off and put on a slightly different air.. I like to think Daddy knows how to do that.

And I'm not sure "lady" accurately describes me.. *thinks really hard*

There are varied definitions of what a "lady" is, and if prim and proper fall into that, then, hrm..well.. I'm not it..

Yes, daddy M. Spankings should be mutually agreed upon. Understanding any limits too. Just because I "might" like to be spanked, it doesn't mean I want to be slapped in the face or other places.

I think we might share a soapbox on that issue. Not only do I teach my kiddo how to act like a lady but also what she should expect from a gentleman. She rolls her eyes.....

I forgot about that, lol!

Damn my ADD. :p

YAY!! I hope you do have that job. Then you can move forward too. Yay!

I lived east of Houston. It is a sprawling area. You must be on the west side? I'm likely to be in town for a night in August (near IAH).

I forgot about that, lol!

Damn my ADD. :p

We do the same with our daughter.

But her brothers taught her to grab a boy by the neck and punch him in the face if he gets fresh.

She will never date with grown men as brothers, lol.

LOL!!! Never forget your super power.

It sounds like having brothers is a blessing and a curse? I always wished for an older brother. That sweet little one will learn how to wrap them around her finger and charm them into letting her date...a little.

Not when it comes to dating.

They tell her, her body is a garden for Jesus and want her to be a nun.

We are not Catholic, haha.

I think that it's great she's learning how to defend herself. If a boy is being fresh, then he's no longer being a gentleman and deserves what he gets.

RA: That's great news! Angel and I are hoping and praying that you get the job!

Oh no, not West.. Were in the SL/MC area (hope you can decipher that) We should meet for lunch or dinner when you're here. :rose:

Lmk.. I'd love to meet you!

The freeway system is crazy there, isn't it? Always some construction. Driving through downtown is a crap shoot.

OK everyone, I'm out for a little while. I'm off from work again today and I get to spend it with my daughter. Have to do some chores first but later we're heading out to the park for some fun. Take care and hope everyone has a great day!
