OK, I am trying this if anyone wants to participate, if not that's cool too. I get these questions daily in my e-mail so I figured I'd post them, one a day. I'll post answers and a new question in 24 hours. Sooo here we go...........

Here is the first QOTD.....

What is the most common reason for divorce:

(a)Adultery?
(b)Money?
(c)Death of a child?
(d)In-laws?

Selfishness.

Oh, sorry, that wasn't one of the options. :p I'll say money, then.

I'll say money, too.

{Slyc writes really big so he's kinda easy to cheat off of.}

{Not that I ever would, of course, but if you could move your hand just a little tomorrow, I'd really appreciate it.}

Money. It might be dressed up as something else on the surface, but it's still about money. Having it, not having it, or (perceived) inequitable distribution.

How far, and to where, specifically, would you like me to move my hand?

What? "Marriage" isn't one of the choices?

That's the only thing every divorce has in common. :p

Of the choices given, Money is the best choice.

Most COMMON? Money, I think. Adultery and death of a child would probably be more challenging/threatening, but not more common.

For the modern day I am going to add

E-The Internet.

between hook up sites like that madison whatever who's catch phrase is "Life is short have an affair" and people being able to hide their extramarital affairs on cell phones and e-mails, it has added an entire new dimension to the ease of adultery

And even worse? facebook, there are couples now arguing with each other like idiots over the internet and all their friends get involved.

Fucking idiotic, but I work with a guy who's daughter just got divorced and it all started with her moron husband's even more moronic friend posting pics of them on facebook posing with exotic dancers on his "business" trip to Vegas.

Just like the cyber bullying is causing kids to kill themselves, this crap is ruining marriages.

Money, definitely. That's the most common of problems in a marriage.

I'm with Harold. If you're not married, you can't get divorced, can you?

Selfishness manifesting itself through money. Perhaps. Cuz HP is right, if you are solid you can figure out how to have fun without money , but if you are selfish you can never have enough money.

Death of a child - and having a child with special needs, are highly likely to lead to divorce, although not occurring as frequently.

Listening to various friends over the years regarding the failure of their relationships has led me to think that a relative few are willing to work through problems in a marriage for the sake of preserving the love they had originally proclaimed. Increasingly fewer couples are willing to rekindle that spark they once had; they'd rather move on, damn the effects on the kids, and look for someone else.

Makes me wonder how many people ever figure out that when you get married, you give up your personal life in exchange for a shared one. There is not, and should nevermore be, an "I." It is always a "We."

If you're mature enough to accept that simple truth, then you're mature enough to get married. Otherwise, live the happy single life. :p

Thus endeth my rant. ;)

Edit: yes, I know people change and relationships can become abusive. Those are absolutely valid grounds for divorce. What I am referring to are those who get married but never get past their own needs, and thus my original answer of "selfishness" as a reason for divorce.

Ok The first QOTD was :

(a)Adultry?

(c)Death of a child?
(d)In-laws?

The answers are in order.... (b) then (a) then (c) then (d)

Here is the new QOTD....
Women are more inclined to let a friend have a sip of her wine/water or just about anything they are drinking, so my question is what percent of men will not let a friend have a sip of their beer or anything they are drinking:

(a)0 to 24%?
(b)25 to 49%?
(c)50 to 74%?
(d)75 to 100%?

This is maybe asked the wrong way. What percentage of men will ask to take a sip of another man's drink? I think the percentage would be close to zero.

My first inclination is to go with the 75-100% range, because American men (I'm assuming, since Sax lives in Texas, that the site from which these questions derive is an American one) are often homophobic and territorial. The homophobe doesn't want to share anything with another man, and the territorial man wants to keep everything he has to himself.

However, American men are also prone to turn anything into a pissing contest, and if they have something that is different from what other men around them have, they could be willing to allow them a sample of what they have, if only to impose a sort of superiority based on that difference.

"I'm drinking Bud Light. What you got there, Tom?"

"I got a Spaten Optimator. A real man's beer."

"Never heard'a that. Can I try it?"

"Sure."

Sip.

"Damn, that's pretty good, Tom."

"Well, that's all you get. Have fun with your Bud."

So, I'll go with the 50-74% range.

It's pretty high, I'm sure. I hesitate choosing the last answer because that implies almost all of them and there are always exceptions.

C

Thanks, slyc.

A  from the good little witch.
