Sorry to hear about your youngest, WQ.
Big day tomorrow - my fathers funeral. I'm sad to see him go, but it's a huge relief too. He was a VERY sick man and in the end, too sick for dialysis, so his kidneys took him last Wednesday. It took 10 days without dialysis and he was pleased to remain at home. I couldn't stay and watch him die, so mum and her sister were there with him - and loads of family had been around (including us....bub and me) that week. Their doctor was great and kept up the morphine, so he was pretty comfortable.
On a lighter note, the kiddo is commando crawling! Time to finish baby-proofing the house!!!

Oh thank god I found this thread! I was beginning to feel the tyranny of distance weighing down on me for a while, all forlorn and isolated among those of The Other Hemisphere!
So new I'm still sparkly, but very interested in just getting to swap stories with fellow antipodeans (and I've lived in practically every state except WA, so I can speak your lingo).

Well I'm a POM over here studying Carpentry at Tafe in Perth.
I was told the other day that I dressed like a POM, not knowing what exactly that meant, I assumed it was the lack of Boardies, singlets that I own.
So I need to inject some "Aussieness" into my wardrobe. So is there an online company that sells clothing that is inexpensive but kinda trendy?
After performing a search on Google, I browsed on the sites "The Iconic" and "Brands Exclusive"......which are great but a bit pricey.

Right, so some places are out.
My suggestion would be some jeans from Jay Jays (not skinny jeans!) or boardies from Vin Reece and a simple bonds tshirt with a nice collared button-down cotton shirt over the top (short sleeve for hot weather, long sleeve with cuffs turned up for cooler weather)
And good shoes.
But that's just my opinion.
Most of this stuff can be got quite cheaply.
