I'm writing a sexual-horror tale for LIT. I wanna hoist a character up by his ankles and cut his throat. Is that kosher on LIT?

You'll find that Lit's pretty liberal when it comes to violent content. I have yet to see any specific no-nos in the FAQ, but maybe I just missed something. I had heard, years ago, that straight-out snuff was against Lit's policies, but I had a character fucked to death by a dildo, and it got through. Of course, that was in a parody of the Wizard of Oz, but still.

I dunno. I don't read many of them. I sort of thought that having a process where the blood infusion goes to the cock and shreds the victim (in a glorious experience) to death would be a new direction in vampires. (The readers seemed to like it OK--at least the series rates well for me here and I got far more "yum" comments than "yuck" ones on and off the site and is a sales standby in the market.)

That's an interesting variation.

I recall having read a Poppy Z. Brite short many years ago in which her vampires required both blood and semen in order to survive. One of her more nasty characters decided to get both at the same time. It didn't end well for her victim.

Unfortunately, the mothers of her vampires never survived the birthing, as the vamp baby literally ate its way out (sort of like the movie Alien). She also seemed to be of the opinion that every man in the world was secretly -- or not so secretly -- gay.

Brite wrote in a very impressive, descriptive style. She liked using themes throughout her books, like a certain color, use of a certain drink, and so on. She put a lot of effort into it.
