$250,000 For A Story!~

I didn't know where to post this so I decided to post it here!

A 19yr old girl wrote a story on a girl losing her virginity and then other sex escapades. Anyway, the point of the reason that I am writing is because Said Girl made 250 K on this story after she self published the story and sold the story for $3 a BOOK! ONLY $3 A BOOK AND MADE THAT MONEY AS TAKE HOME MONEY AFTER SHE PAID HER BILLS AND PRICES THAT CAME ALONG WITH THE RIDE!

AND WE'RE DOING IT FOR FREE!!!!!!!

We need to all take the time to look into publishing and see where it takes us! THIS IS WHAT WE DO PEOPLE~

WHY NOT GET PAID FOR IT!!!!!!

I think a lot of Lit authors actually are self-publishing already. It gets discussed quite often on the AH... though most aren't making that kind of money from it.

Some are making a lot more than they let on and one in particular makes close to that every year.

I think quite a few are making at least some money out of it--and not just self-published either. There are a boatload of erotica e-book publishers to publish with. What amused me about the OP (posted both here and in the Editors forum) is the surprise with which it was written. Folks from here have been publishing for profit for years. A whole publishing house sprang from here four years ago.

The OP gave me the "so, where have you been?" reaction.

There's plenty of people selling here on various sites, but self published and through publishers and many advertise through links and covers in their sigs so not sure why the OP seems to think no one is doing it.

I would like to know the name of the story as well just out of curiosity. Sounds like she caught lightning in a bottle

You could google it. Or go to Amazon and check out self publishing on the Kindle.

First, I don't think you are going to get $250,000 for one story (and I don't think whatever you are quoting in your OP did this either), but you could start by reading this here at Lit. and then going to Smashwords and Amazon.com and reading their material on getting self-published there.
