What happened to all of the doom and gloom economic threads?

CURRY says, BREITBART???????????????? HAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And we’re also going to have to make decisions about health care, doc pay for health care that has no demonstrated medical benefits . So the snarky version…which I shouldn’t even say because it will get me in trouble is death panels and sales taxes is how we do this.

Years of accumulating debt and expanding government programs only moves us down the “road to serfdom.” As Krugman surmised, the consequence is government confiscation of wealth and government control over health care. Rarely are Leftists so candid in articulating their hopes. “Death panels and sales taxes” is the mantra of those seizing power in the nation founded on the rights of “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” What a difference two centuries makes.

So now death panels are when Medicare doesn't pay for unproven medical treatments? And that's a bad thing why?

"As bleak as the economic picture is for black Americans, the immediate prospects for improving it are worse."

Fortunately, not everyone with the skin-color follows blindly behind the same tired leadership.

There are pockets of success for those who reject the same crap that's been fed to them for decades. Unfortunately, a majority allow the Democratic Party to keep them under-educated and dependent upon the government. Money and power drive the Democrats and long-time "civil rights" leaders to hold tight to that leash. Difficult to give up the power and prestige even as the constituency flounders.

There was a recent CBO report that said the primary reason for increased enrollment in the food stamp program isn't unemployed people. It's employed people who work but their jobs simply don't pay much. The average Walmart employee makes $9 per hour which is a little over $16k per year. If that person has a kid they qualify for benefits.

Conservatives such as yourself have constructed this false narrative that Obama came into office and started giving shit away so that people can be lazy all day and not bother working. But you're making things up - fabricating your own false reality in order to feel righteous in your anger.

The wealth disparity between Black Americans and white Americans is something that cannot merely be solved in a summit, roundtable, discussion or over the course of a two term Presidency. The underlying root of the problem goes back generations and is more of a mindset. You must remember that this country and the foundations and institutions of wealth were built by whites seeking a better opportunity. Blacks were brought here against their will and forced to endure horrible treatment. Hispanics, Asians, etc. All come to this nation of their own free will to seek a better life for themselves and their children. There's a different mentality when you're forced to do something as opposed to doing it of your own free will.

In addition Black Americans are only four or five decades from having all the rights associated with being an American that whites have had from the begining. Its similar to running a race. If one individual is allowed to start a marathon 45 minutes before another individual then of course he'll have a substantial lead and continue to maintain one. Whites have been given a massive head start. By the time Black Americans could even vote or eat in a whites only establishment, by in large whites had established massive sums of institutional wealth. Frankly given the odds, Black Americans aren't doing too bad as a whole.

false narrative that Obama came into office .

The only false narative is your bullshit about having genitals.

The data about black Americans is irrefutable. However, since many will blindly follow one Party [Democrats in this case] then...ya get what ya pay for! I guess that leaves more for the rest of us.

Sheep - whether Democrat or Republicans - get what they deserve.

The data is also abusable as you're demonstrating for us.

Why not tell us what benefit Obama gave Americans who choose to be lazy and not work?

CBO: Employers Will Pay Staggering $130 Billion In Obamacare Penalties By 2022…

Should do wonders for the economy.

Via RNC’s Joe Pounder:

Number Of Americans On Disability Hits New Record For 192nd Straight Month: 8,830,026…

Thankfully the SSDI system isn’t rife with fraud… no, wait?

Via CNS News:

The number of American workers collecting federal disability payments climbed to yet another record high of 8,830,026 in January, up from 8,827,795 in December, according to newly released data from the Social Security Administration.

This is the 192nd straight month that the number of American workers collecting federal disability payments has increased. The last time the number of Americans collecting disability decreased was in January 1997. That month the number of workers taking disability dropped by 249 people—from 4,385,623 in December 1996 to 4,385,374 in January 1997.

As the overall number of Americans collecting disability has increased, the ratio of full-time workers to disability beneficiaries has decreased.

Remember, Obama wanted Obama care to get the votes of of 11 million uninsured:

Seven million will lose insurance under Obama health law

By Stephen Dinan - The Washington Times February 5, 2013, 01:00PM

President Obama's health care law will push 7 million people out of their job-based insurance coverage — nearly twice the previous estimate, according to the latest estimates from the Congressional Budget Office released Tuesday.

CBO said that this year's tax cuts have changed the incentives for businesses and made it less attractive to pay for insurance, meaning fewer will decide to do so. Instead, they'll choose to pay a penalty to the government, totaling $13 billion in higher fees over the next decade.
But the non-partisan agency also expects fewer people to have to pay individual penalties to the IRS than it earlier projects, because of a better method for calculating incomes that found more people will be exempt.
Overall, the new health provisions are expected to cost the government $1.165 trillion over the next decade — the same as last year's projection.
With other spending cuts and tax increases called for in the health law, though, CBO still says Mr. Obama's signature achievement will reduce budget deficits in the short term.

During the health care debate Mr. Obama had said individuals would be able to keep their plans.

7 Million will be getting insurance somewhere else, not lose it like your scary title says. And of course way more than that change insurance providers each year because their employer switches from company A to company B, or people just change jobs. It's a growing pain of the new system coming online but a small one. After all we're talking about 2.1% of America here. Whoopdee shit.

And you posted an article that says Obamacare is going to lower the deficit. Are you sure you wanted to do that?

It is OBVIOUS that n one really thought thru theh entire implications of this bill

That's the NICE way of looking at it

Cause if they did think thru it

And still passed it. THEN THEY DID US HARM.......ON PURPOSE

Sweet: ObamaCare is going to cost us 127 million+ hours a year

Just a little midweek, midday roundup of a few of the most recent ways in which the Affordable Care Act is just not going according to plan. “Unexpectedly,” of course.

The House Ways and Means, Education and Workforce, and Energy and Commerce Committees have teamed up on a new report called the “ObamaCare Burden Tracker,” meant to function as “a real-time online resource to help the public keep track of all of the new government mandates, rules, and red tape as a result of ObamaCare.”

Every hour and dollar spent complying with the Democrats’ health care law are time and resources being taken from spending time with family, growing a business and creating jobs, or caring for patients. Since many small businesses do not employ in-house lawyers and accountants, compliance costs are especially expensive and burdensome. Given the new demands of complying with the law, it is not surprising that over 70 percent of small businesses cite the health care law as a major obstacle to job creation.

What could be done in 127,602,371 hours?
Mount Rushmore, which took 14 years to build, could be constructed 1,040 times.
Halley’s comet, seen from Earth once every 76 years, could be spotted 191 times.
The Empire State building, which took 7 million hours to build, could be constructed 18 times.

Ways and Means Chairman Dave Camp (R-MI) stated, “This is just another example of the Obama Administration placing the burden of their policies on the backs of those who are already doing more with less time and resources – families and small businesses. With many rules and regulations yet to come, these 127 million burden hours – many of them due to complying with new taxes – are just the tip of the iceberg. Worst of all, the law has failed to deliver what Americans need most – affordable health care.”

Dang. Can we get an app for this?

It’s highly useful to remember that the many costs of ObamaCare are not merely monetary ones; every hour that an individual or business spends complying with the many twists and turns of the new health care regulations is an hour spent not doing something else. This is a major opportunity cost that’s going to take a huge chunk out of American productivity; if the White House sincerely thinks that even more regulations and compliance costs are going to do anything to spur us along after four years of a whimpering economy, they’ve got another thing coming (although they so far seem perfectly content to sweep the jobs-and-economy issue under the rug and just keep laboring under this “new normal”).

In that same vein, yesterday’s Congressional Budget Office report included a number of not-so-subtle hints that maybe the feds should consider toning it down on the boldfaced ObamaCare optimism, lest they should perhaps come to regret their many cheerful promises, via the NJ:

On several important measures of the law’s success, CBO’s numbers are pessimistic compared with earlier estimates: Fewer uninsured people will get coverage, insurance options will be more limited, and more employers will stop covering their workers. Perhaps most noteworthy, the report suggests that the new health insurance marketplaces set to launch later this year are unlikely to be completely ready in time.

That negativity came cloaked in the careful language of the budget office—what former Bush health official Tevi Troy called “heavy bureaucratese”—but the report signaled CBO officials are worried that key provisions of the law are not going to work as intended.

“They view the odds of success as diminishing sharply,” said Douglas Holtz-Eakin, the president of the conservative American Action Forum and a former CBO director. …

In plain language, that means CBO thinks the marketplaces won’t have many insurance choices, the Medicaid enrollment systems will not be ready for new people to enroll, and people will be less enthusiastic about signing up for new insurance options.

And just to get a little more specific:

The Congressional Budget Office on Tuesday quietly raised the 10-year cost of ObamaCare’s insurance subsidies offered via the health law’s exchanges by $233 billion, according to a Congressional Budget Office review of its latest spending forecast.

The CBO’s new baseline estimate shows that ObamaCare subsidies offered through the insurance exchanges — which are supposed to be up and running by next January — will total more than $1 trillion through 2022, up from $814 billion over those same years in its budget forecast made a year ago. That’s an increase of nearly 29%.

You’re welcome

With the sequester talks about to happen in few weeks think social security payments come up 66 billion in February alone.

66 billion buy you 5 new aircraft carries

New m1 tank 3 minutes of social security payments.
B1 bomber just two hours of social security payments.
15 hell fire missiles every second of social security payments
Some mind boggling numbers with social security payments but yet it's not going be fixed just kick the can down the road some more move along nothing see here.

Some people think that spending money feeding old people is a better investment than killing people in foreign lands. Weird, I know.

So as long as it's used to feed old people it's alright and doesn't need to be fixed got it.

we finally have some good news. the post office is trying to fix the bleeding. now, they only need to fire 2/3 of their workforce!

Obama care drives up the price of food there always food stamps:D
So long mom and pops food stores and job's

the Food and Drug Administration gets its way, your trip to the grocery store could get a tad pricier.
Supermarket owners argue a pending federal food-labeling rule that stems from the new health care law would overburden thousands of grocers and convenience store owners -- to the tune of $1 billion in the first year alone.
Store owner Tom Heinen said the industry's profit margins already are razor thin. "When you incur a significant cost, there is no way that that doesn't get passed on to the customer in some form," he said.
The rule stems from an ObamaCare mandate that restaurants provide nutrition information on menus. Most in the restaurant industry were supportive of the idea, but when the FDA decided to extend the provision to also affect thousands of supermarkets and convenience stores, the backlash was swift.
The proposed regulation would require store owners to label prepared, unpackaged foods found in salad bars and food bars, soups and bakery items. Erik Lieberman, regulatory counsel at the Food Marketing Institute, said testing foods for nutritional data will require either expensive software or even more costly off-site laboratory assessments.
Lieberman said failure to get it right comes with stiff penalties: "If you get it wrong, it's a federal crime, and you could face jail time and thousands of dollars worth of fines."
The FDA says much of ObamaCare is aimed at helping Americans live healthier lives, and these proposed labeling requirements would help them do just that. In the text of the proposed regulation, the FDA states: "[The information] should help consumers limit excess calorie intake and understand how the foods that they purchase at these establishments fit within their daily caloric and other nutritional needs."
An Executive Order issued by President Obama in 2011 says agencies are supposed to calculate a cost-benefit analysis for each new regulation and attempt to use the least burdensome regulatory methods possible. Critics of the FDA's food labeling proposal say the agency didn't comply.
"They are required to do it, and they didn't," Lieberman said. "They simply said, 'We can't quantify a benefit from this rule,' and that's because they really can't."
The FDA said Wednesday it has received hundreds of public comments on the proposal and will take them into consideration when finalizing the regulation. It is likely to be released later this spring, and the agency says it will "include a final economic analysis."
