It has been a LOT cooler here. Much more civilised :)
This is why I endure Tassie winters - because at most we have only a few hot days per summer and the rest are comfortable.

My man is home, so not on here as much.
The company flew all the crew out as soon as the worst of the cyclone weather was past.

Still a few fires burning down here, but not as bad as on the mainland now!

Stay as cool as you can, and lets hope the fact that the monsoon has finally made it to the top of Oz means there's cooler weather ahead for everyone.

Much more pleasent today with 21.7C / 71.06F

Uses for expensive Pjur lubricant #463

Fitting new tyres to aluminium rims on the bike.

:cattail:

I worry about that man....

Lube is also very helpful with motorcycle tyres & go kart tyres !

Also when fitting new tyres to car rim it's normally soapy water but think lube would be better. :D

hi Aussies

james here from sydney looking for some pen friends in Brisbane due to me transfering for work...

;)Happy to help heal those knuckles for you, Elfie ....They need bathing...warm liquid applied liberally....can definitely help you there.

Well there goes the visit to Melbourne before March then.....i loathe humidity, but hot drying winds? Not me..unless they are a blowin' where they cause an arch and a long slow sigghhhhh.........

How are you at polishing things? Have some floors i am procastinating about.....You have good fine motor skills?

Will catch up soon......just a quick fly by

Be well and mmmm not a clink......whispers...a jangle....

:kiss:MsMoon:kiss:

Yep I reckon I would get a warm soaking. Hand all healed now though, but the warm soaking could be beneficial anyway :D

Had to polish brass handles in the previous placed I owned. Looked nice when all shined but frankly time is better spent in other tasks around the house. I've always had rather good hand eye coordination that's why I was always in the slips on the cricket field. Need to have soft hands as well to cup things properly. Also helps when batting...need to know how to caress the wood onto leather.

I hope you continue feel yourself...;)

Holy cow! This thread is like a desert......

Where is everybody?????

I hope the new year has been kind to our Aussies so far. These bushfires suck. mMight be a case of be careful what you wish for. After no summer to count last year everyone here was looking forward to a real summer. Not sure we have it, anyway. Weather is up and down like a yoyo. Scorchin hot then freezing. That's altitude for ya.

Gil, I hope you're well and Bandit is managing to keep you in line. :D

W.Q, I hope things are settled down in your neck of the woods and things green up soon. What's with that silly thread on the GB?

Orlanth, I suppose you're not even noticing the heatwave. Just another variation of bloody hot ;)

I can see Mr Elf reclining on a chaise longue with a nubile women feeding him grapes....

:D:D:D

Hey Trisk,

Well everyone is probably back at work settling into a new year. Kinda like the first day of school where things are a bit crazy for the first week. My Windows software decided to fail a couple of days ago. Good old Microsoft, when they screw something up they do it properly. One of the updates screwed up the booting system, anyway it took me a couple of days to get everything back up and running.

Unfortunately no nubile women and not much of reclining on a couch except to ease my back pain. Way too much of back work involved and I paid for it afterwards but silly me kept doing more tasks. So even if I had some nubile women around I was hurting too much to do anything about it. Although I did get some attention from female shoppers, lots of help offered. I guess they were just amazed that a guy was shopping for new interior stuff like curtains. Then again I've been doing everything from painting, cleaning, moving furniture, putting up curtains and cooking. The only thing I didn't manage to get to was the garden. Did buy the new garden power tool though and all the other bits.

Women in western countries are more likely to throw the grapes than feed them to a bloke...funny enough I saw a number of elderly blokes with young S.E. Asian partners helping them with tasks..so I reckon that's as close as we'll get to feeding a guy grapes, then again they may need to chew them for the old bloke as well. To each his or her own I guess.

used it for chapped lips before
<pardon the Yank intrusion>

That reminds me of a vaseline joke.

A vaseline salesman is trying to drum new business for the company so he goes around a street knocking on doors and handing out jars of vaseline and tells people to try it and he will come back in a few days and get their feedback.

He goes to the first house and the resident informs him yes he used it to ease a burn on his hand. The resident in the second house says yes it was very useful as a lube for his mechanical parts. The salesman is happy with the feedback so far. He goes to the third house and asks the resident whether he used the vaseline...he responded yes I did. The salesman asks the resident what did he use the vaseline for...the resident says , "well I used it for sexual purposes, in fact if you have another jar I'll buy one."

The vaseline salesman goes a bit red in the face but needs to complete the feedback form so he asks the resident for details.

Well says the resident, "When my wife and I want to do it I put some vaseline on the door knob of the bedroom so the kids can't open the door".

Afternnoon all,

Hello to the new people and those just passing through. We Aussies are a friendly bunch, well until you tell us there's no beer.

Hope all are getting through the heat and the fires. Summer has certainly got the heat thing going well and not lets talk about the humidity. And the utility companies cheerfully inform you the price of gas and elec is going up again. Oh joy. The cheeky buggers even stated we should all check our air cons to make sure they are working efficiently, shame the same can't be said for them.

Well my holidays are over and its back to work tomorrow to start another year of work issues, and its going to be another hot day...my cup runith over, bring on retirement.
