Hey all,

This guitarist from a Christian metalcore band For Today, Mike Reynolds, said the homosexuality is a sin, and that is no gay Christians. I will link the article so you can view the little bundle of joy yourselves:
http://www.blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=184708

Really, it's nothing you haven't heard before or since. However, Mr. Reynolds must learn that there could be exciting suicide in fans who are gay and look up to him or his shitty band.

The very phrase "Christian Metalcore" should be fair warning that clowntime is ahead.

Somebody should send him this Chick tract: http://www.chick.com/reading/tracts/0034/0034_01.asp

Perhaps he's right on the first part and wrong on the second.

From both a religious stand-point and as a standard one, he's wrong on both counts.

Some backstory is needed, you see, I had a born again Christian phase, where I felt I was entitled and everyone was sinners, and would burn before me. Slowly, though, I grew that most of Christianity, nowadays, is full of hypocrispy and is no better than any other corrupt religion.

It's from www.chick.com. Jack Chick is a famous/infamous writer of evangelical tracts. If you read his works you'll learn that Islam is a front for the Roman Catholic Church, which is a front for Satanism. Also: Dungeons & Dragons, any religion other than Chick's brand of Protestantism, modern music, homosexuality, evolution, Halloween, modern Bible translations, and probably a few other things I've forgotten.

Chick tracts are great for discomforting bible-thumpers, because you can almost guarantee that he'll have a few positions that are ludicrous even by their standards - not to mention the cheesy storylines and crappy artwork.

(FWIW, I have plenty of Christian friends who are lovely, and non-bigoted, and who REALLY detest Jack Chick.)

Would you know where I could get a bunch of the tracts?Figure it would be great to use for ending a conversation, just say"By the way,I'd like you to READ this,it's VERY IMPORTANT!Do you know................."figure by that point, the smile will be frozen and they'll be speeding up as they back away.

Chick's website has a huge archive: http://www.chick.com/catalog/tractlist.asp

You can view any of the tracts there. I read most of his back catalogue that way (it was late at night, I had to supervise a computer program that took hours to run, and I was very very bored... DON'T JUDGE ME).

The earlier tracts are probably the most entertaining. Anything involving Bill Schnoebelen is guaranteed to be full of crackpot conspiracy theories. A lot of the more recent stuff is ghost-drawn by more talented artists, alas.

The site sells hardcopy versions - people hand them out to nonbelievers or leave them lying around in waiting rooms etc, because Chick is all about the converts. If you don't want to give money to the loonies, which I certainly don't - he's sold millions, so it should be possible to find them second-hand.
