Three cups of eldberberry "tea", four hour nap, hot bath, and a shit load of advil and I'm feeling much better. I wake up and see Punkin lying next to me and smile. Someone was thinking about me today.

I may venture out of my room and offer myself up for a body inspection later. :D I was out and about yesterday, and there's really no telling what I could have picked up. Wouldn't want anything transmitted to the lovelies who reside here in the the bunker with me, and I most certainly don't want Dave compromised in any fashion. He does such a wonderful job at protecting our innocence *snorts*

I wonder what's for dinner?

Beef ... I need Beef! If I have a volunteer to grill these steaks (mine is Med Rare, please) I'll whip up some mac & cheese, peas with pearl onions in butter sauce, pan roasted corn, and cloverleaf rolls.

I have an AMAZING collection of new and lovely calphalon cookware to play with.

I have had a lovely day playing in the barn with The Mare and Mandy. Started building jumps and a trail course and a dressage arena. Think I am going to scavange some of the surrounding farms to see what materials are there ... maybe a lovely mount or two turned out in the pasture. The Mare jumps, but not big. I wanna fly!!! :)

Food sounds good right now, especially BEFORE we start drinking. ;)


All the good horses are in Ocala, about two hours north of here...if nothing is blocking the road. We'll take a truck and a party for defense and grab a horse trailer while we're there. Plenty of trailer places up there. Let's go next week!
 
Standing on the causeway I thump at the door. "Cooee"
The dark one beside me startles and begins to prance... "shush lil one...just wait and see". Black as midnight with a small white "star" on the forehead the little foal is skittish at my side.
I espy the camera.... I found this little one on my travels. I don't know what happen to its mama. I don't know anything about horses but I couldn't leave it. Is Dapple about? She'd know what to do!

That's a fine horse, and I'm sure she'll love it. But we're going to need to take her out to the barns.

If you'll hold your little foal, I'll go see if I can find Dapple....

Or tie her up and come in. You need to eat.

I can't ... must settle the foal first...*resting my head against the foals mane* ...tis only a baby.
Point the way... I'll try and settle the foal, thou I remember Dapple said one of her's in a bit of a "character".

I am willing to trade..Barter is my middle name. What you got back there you think is worth a pint of my Aphrodite's Almighty Elixir???

It's actually easy peasy to make, and I posted the recipe a few weeks back.

Take a clean mason jar and fill it halfway with dried elderberries. Fill it half way with 100+ proof whatever ( I use Vodka) fill the remaining half with honey. Cap and shake. SIt it on the counter and shake everyday for about 6 weeks. Strain off the now very purple liquid into another clean jar.

Dose: As much as you'd like in hot water for tea, or by the spoonful every hour until you are either drunk or your cold is gone... :D

There is a deeply bedded stall between the geldings and they love babies!! The Mare, not so much. That is why she is at the other end of the barn by herself

I don't know nuffin about horses Dapple. I like em..but they knows I'm skittish. Leans over to whisper *it's a height thing...vertigo even abreast a horse! You know how they take the head if they know they have the upper hand*. I don't mean to lumber he/her on you when you do so much. I'll help, but the foal is for you. You would know what's needed. I just couldn't leave her behind... alone. Would you...take her I mean?

You are right, she is a filly ... and just about 4 months. Of course I'll take her! But you are her Auntie and as she grows up, you get to help spoil her ... and name her
