I drank more than my fair share of vodka while there. You need to go to Sergeiv Posad while you're there and go to the Russian baths. Going from a sauna into a cistern of water that they broke the ice off of and following all with generous amounts of vodka and champagne.... Did I mention that you're naked for most of it?
It's actually incredibly relaxing.

Sipping vodka? No one in my family ever did. Oh wait, Russians might. We with family from the land of Poles NEVER sip: It's "Na zdrowie!" and in the stomach it goes. Wine and beer are sipped.

My off-the-boat Polish great-grandmother started giving my second cousins, siblings and I vodka for tooth aches and sinus headaches beginning at 3. By 16, I could handle a 3-finger shot like it was water. Now, I don't care to do it.

That's normal for elders i think-my grandma gave us tequila when we were teething-and a hot apple juice/tea with tequila for when we were sick with fevers and flu-she would also put chicken feet under our beds too LoL grandma bruja is what we call her lol
