MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -
A Chicago man has been charged with assault after allegedly shooting at a Minneapolis pizza delivery driver for delivering a pizza that was too small.

Demetrius Patterson, 26, is charged with one count of second-degree assault for the Dec. 21 incident. According to the criminal complaint, Patterson answered the door at his girlfriend's apartment on the 2100 block of Russell Ave. N. and began arguing with the 45-year-old driver.

The victim told police he didn't want to argue, so he walked toward his car. As the driver walked away with the pizza, Patterson stepped out of the house and fired five to six gunshots.

The deliveryman was able to drive-off and was not injured.

Police arrested Patterson, who was cooperative, and recovered a 9mm handgun from his girlfriend's apartment.

Six shots and didn't hit anything?

Doesn't he know there's an ammo shortage?

If he had ordered from Godfather's, the story might have a different ending.

Nice thread. I love Chicago, the safer areas that is. The address sounds like it's in a safe neighborhood, but I could be wrong. But with the current gun climate, who knows what will happen when you disagree with a gun owner these days.

Just don't fuck up their order and you won't get shot.

Read the constitution, dummy.

Demetrius Patterson:rolleyes:, clearly a DUMO CRAP LIB PROG crazed "person"

I expect the NRA will seek legislation to henceforth arm all delivery people.

Further, once the dummy has served his jail time, I expect the NRA will come out in support of his 2nd Amendment right to once again enjoy the benefits of gun ownership.

I sold one of the founders of that chain, a new furnace a while back.

Really nice guy.

I think furnace sellers should have to go through a back ground check. Those furnaces could blow up and kill lots of people. Furnace sellers should also make sure their customers only have up to ten gallons of fuel oil, any more than that and the explosion could kill many many more. I mean for christs sake you can burn all ten gallons at once. Dammit this is a crisis we go going here with unregistered furnace sales people.

That's not the way I read it. Look to see an initiative to reinforce the rights of people who call for pizza delivery. Probably a stand your ground kind of thing, where deadly force can be used if the pizza is too small, or late, but only in cases where the gun owner feels their hunger is threatened.

Furthermore, if this incident doesn't make the case for high-capacity clips/magazines, I don't know what will convince you all.

Reason # 53789 not to go to north Minneapolis.

The guy who invented bulletproof vests delivered pizzas. Maybe it should be a part of the uniform

Furnaces do blow up from time to time.

Anybody can sell anything, installers are licensed, as am I. One also needs a couple of million dollars in liability insurance to install furnaces, because they can cause serious harm or even fatalities in large numbers if not cared for or if it's installed wrong.

I think you just made a good case for gun carriers (in public) to have liability insurance...just in case.

Also, oil burners are for chumps! NG or LP is what I install.

Sorry, but I have to disagree.

From my POV, this is a personal responsibility thing. The consumer should take direct action in the event of any dissatisfaction with take-out food instead of passing the buck to society in the form of a lawsuit that will only serve to further bog down the courts.

HVAC contractors are licensed. Don't be an idiot.

There is no reason either approach would no put more guns in the hands of people, which is the only thing anyone wants. Both people who order pizzas and pizza delivery people will be armed, so gun sales go up across the board. The CEO of Godfathers was asked if this would raise the price of a pizza and he said "Not at all. Our want ads will now specify, Must have reliable transportation and automatic pistol." As with all other parts of the Godfathers delivery system, the employee shoulders all capital expenses.
