God

I choose (sometimes) not to argue about the existence of god. God, spirituality, it's a personal belief system. And spirituality is a mixed bag that doesn't have to include a "god".

What is far more arguable, is the silliness of the bible, the contradictions, the poor interpretations, etc.

This quote raised a question in my mind, who is the one true god? Is God to your mind the same as Allah or Ahura Mazda or Yaweh or El, or many others. I tend to the view that each is an aspect /manifestation of the God idea, and given that all are omniscient I don't see how they can be anything other than one and the same.

The problem of defining God (whatever the name) in the context of a particular, exclusive religious experience means that the God so defined is restricted to the adherents of that particular religion. Thus any restriction or qualification of the God idea creates a paradox by implicitly denying the omniscience of the Godhead. I would appreciate your thoughts.:)

I do not see God as being concerned about which "religion" He fits best with. I am not too concerned about denominations or any particular religion to be honest.

Jesus says there is only one way to God...and that is through Him. If a "religion" or denomination has this as the basis of that "religion" or faith...then what it is called does not matter.

The Godhead is the Trinity...God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Neither is more than the other and they are not complete without any part.

I choose not to call myself "Christian" but rather as a follower of Christ. There is a vast difference to me.

Hmm, as the other four 'Godnames' mentioned all predate Jesus of Nazareth and all seem perfectly valid God concepts I think that the claim that the only way to God is through Jesus is patently absurd. The fundamental fact about any monotheistic god is that the God whatever his/her name must by definition be omniscient. Omniscience will not, and cannot allow any any restriction including that of access. To suggest that access to god is restricted through Jesus is to deny gods fundamental nature whoever she, he, it, is.

See, all above sounds perfectly reasonable until this:

The Godhead is the Trinity...God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Neither is more than the other and they are not complete without any part.

Anyone talking about their religion should be bound by law to state before talking about their religion:

"With my religion......" "In my Faith....." "In our Bible...." and so forth. It rounds the edges and doesn't make you come over arrogantly as following the only 'true' faith.

Fact is everyone who follows a religion thinks their way is the only true way. That;s where the conflict, prejudice, persecution and suffering tends to start.

I hear and understand what you are saying about the many ways to God. I do not share that same belief.

"god" and "jesus" didn't say anything to you. A bible, written by secretive and mysterious men (with an agenda) did.

Ok. I can deal with your law since it's only semantics. In my faith, the Godhead is the Trinity....God the father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Neither is more than the other and they are not complete without any part. I am confident of this belief to the extent that I have lived my life according to my bible. I hear the benefits are out of this world.:heart:
