Sure. But this problem is not only that of GEMA, it’s also one of youtube – Zitat:

Setzt man nun den Durchschnittswert von 0,0001185 Euro pro Stream in Beziehung zu den Einnahmen bei einem TKP von 5 Euro, so hieße das, dass ein Urheber selbst bei einer Million Abrufe seines Musikvideos etwas weniger als 120 Euro verdienen würde (siehe auch Info-Kasten), während YouTube Einnahmen von 5.000 Euro verzeichnet.

Youtube is simply not willing to pay more than 120 Euro. British music abroad (PRS) accepted this condition, GEMA however not. That’s all.

But the artists make more in countries where Youtube videos of their work is allowed.

People see and hear it, and then they buy it.

They aren't going to buy anything they're never heard, right?

Als Konsument stehe ich auch auf der Seite von youtube. Aber Gema hat auf der Seite der Künstler zu stehen und daher ist ihre Position richtig.

Wenn ein Künstler will, dass youtube seine Videos auch in Deutschland zeigt, muss er nur aus der Gema austreten. Aber das will so gut wie keiner. Warum? Weil sie sich von Gema gut vertreten fühlen.

The artists and the companies that represent them hate GEMA.

It's costing them sales.
