The Construction Thread

If your nose is THAT good, the seafood industry might want you.

It wasn't just me though. The rest of the guys could smell it too. I'm just the one that complained. My big thing for this year is "always listen to the little voice".

Beats getting blown up.

Gas leaks are notorious for fueling explosions.

Great...I just heard we tipped another crane last week....wtf is with these guys.

Not right over...just lifted the outriggers and had to set the load down but when its for the babies at the power company...fuck

Better laid off than laid up in the burn unit, eh?

Laid up in the burn unit isn't the worst that could happen.

Every one of the guys on your job owes you for calling a halt to welding in a potentially explosive atmosphere.

You can bitch about a lighter paycheck, but it's nice to bitch with all your appendages intact.

That's that OSHA 30 paying off. The extra 20 hours counted for something.

It appears they were putting something up when it went down...a sad day for construction workers...condolences to all involved

Those precast parking lots make me nervous. I was working across from one of those when it went up and studying their rigging moves. Looks like a lot could go wrong.

The large box store that I work for competes head to head with Home Depot. We have an interesting mix of Halloween and Christmas stuff on display with a bit of Thanksgiving thrown in there. Spring/Summer is our biggest sales time but we'll have that slammin' black Friday appliance sale through that weekend. I process a lot of orders for house flippers and contractors as well as the general public. Flipping is back! It floundered pretty bad there for a while. Regular folks are already heading indoors for projects but the weather is still good here for outdoor stuff.
