I'll go back - neither of us can do without the other for that long! ;)

I know it'll be hotter, but the plus is during the wet the hotels offer great deals, and the hotel I found is literally only 20 steps from my fave pub! :D

I've unpacked my suitcase.... I brought a case of vodka back with me, as I got it free.
Also, some blowthetopoffyourhead chilli sauce I found. Yum!
And my man is putting together a carton of frozen fish fillets to airfreight down... he catches them, and the little chinaman down the road from the marina freezes and packs it to send.
Even with the freight cost, it works out around $8/kg for red emperor and goldband snapper fillets - less than 1/4 the price.

I miss really fresh seafood. Used to fish A LOT. And somehow it just tastes better in the tropics.

I got up at 5 this morning to do my injection, had a couple of cups of coffee, and then crashed for another hour.
I think that might be the day for me - little bursts of activity, followed by naps

Whatever it takes. Whatever you need. :)

Heh - my OCD and I have been busy.
The boys didn't eat half the food I left for them, so I've cleaned out the fridge and have two pots of vege soup on the go (one bacon and leek: one cauliflower, goats cheese and black olive) and they will be ready to freeze in about an hour.
I'm making chilli wings and salad for dinner.
Also, the house has been vacuumed and 3 loads of laundry are done.
The birdcage has been scrubbed, and the cat feeding station (CadburyCat has a whole area of the laundry to herself) has been sterilised.
The lambs have had their nails trimmed and their pen cleaned out as well.
I've decided that's enough for today!

I stopped by ages ago...but much has changed since then. How are you Warrior Queen?

I'm super excellent!
Just had a week of sex, drugs, alcohol and seafood in Darwin, and am now back in civilization - cooling off and drying out

Did I meet you back then? My poor brain has been fried and then slow-cooked during the last week (not to mention, pickled and passed out a few times!), so I trully cannot remember

I have never been to darwin, though it sounds a lot more compelling by the way that you describe it :)

I think we have said hi before, but only in passing. Don't worry, my mind often needs to recover from the fun also, and often, frames are dropped ;)

Your weekend sounds rocking, was it a nuns convention?

It was loads of fun - my man worked nights while I was visiting, so I got to spend the evenings out solo.
Nothing closes in Darwin before 4am, so most nights I didn't get back to my room before about 4-30 every day I was there.

The people are awesomely friendly, the alcohol is cheap (or in my case, mostly free ;)), and the pharmaceuticals were excellent quality

sounds like we all need to go to Darwin :)

I'm jealous! Tell me your secrets?

I can be a trully frightening mama if I get riled up....
On the other hand, doing something wonderfully selfless for me for no reason whatsoever might earn you surprise tickets to see Carl Baron in November!
:D
(The boys don't know about that yet!)

I'm exhausted just reading this!! Now all is right in your world, you need to put feet up and sip something loong, tasty and (by the sounds of it) non-alcoholic. :)

i have been very lazy today. My recouperation day. Tomorrow the whirlwind is loose, in time for the return to work. I love having my weekends in the middle of everyone elses week.

YEAH! And I think it's YOU!!!!

How are you, Sunshine???? :kiss::rose:

I hope everything is going ok for you. How's the gardening going? You exercising your green thumb?

Oh, y'know, life chuggs on. :)

Good news about the trike!! and i want pictures. ;)

You didn't mention the garden? I'm imagining it may need work after you were indisposed for a while? You on track to get it going again? Growing your own is so much yummier!!! :D

So good to see you. Don't nick off for so long next time, ok? :rose:

Morning aussies :)

Well, I think I am finally recovered! Spent the day yesterday restocking the pantry and freezer, had lunch with my daughter and grandbaby, paid a few bills, cooked an awesome thai lemongrass and pork stirfry for dinner, and then finally watched the first in the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series (with subtitles).
All in all, a good day :D

Today, I need to clean out the in-line filter from my water tank, and that's about it! Mind you, that's a fairly big job and will take a couple of hours by the time I disassemble everything, flush and clean, and then put it back together!

And it's Bathurst Weekend coming! YAYNESS!!!

Ok, now I am officially pissed off with my kidlet's school
The kid had a few days off last week (while I was away) and I contacted the school from Darwin to explain that due to my absence, and my no1son's work schedule, there was no-one to drive the kidlet the 14km to and from school for those few days.
I made sure the kidlet had that in writing as well, as soon as I got back, and thought that would be all that was needed.
This morning, the kidlet pulls out no less than 5 (FIVE!) additional forms for me to fill out to explain his absence!
WTF?
One for each of his core subject teachers and one for his homegroup teacher.
You've got to be kidding me!
So I wrote on each, in red pen "Photocopy of absence note attached to each of these will cover it!" and left it at that.
No way am I filling in a two-page form identically five times.
How fucking stupid

This is why our public schools are broke.
Excess paperwork and admin.
Not to mention, for some reason this school with just on 300 students, seems to require no less than 6 fulltime secretaries!

I did mention my garden, i said it was good

This car was quite a saviour... meant I was mobile without having to hire a shitbox i30 or similar.
I will end up going back. Looks like the man is up there till after xmas.

I've come home to a reasonably clean house, despite the boys being there alone!
They even sorted dinner for me :)
I was totally stuffed by the time I got up here last night.... didn't bother unpacking or anything, just had a shower, food and then crashed.
I'll potter a bit today, unpack and do laundry, and then most likely crash again early tonight.
(This is what I get for spending 7 nights staying up till 4am!)

well I'm really glad you got a mobile car...I really hate those non-mobile ones, although parking is a breeze.

I've found that no matter how much sleep you get you never get that time sleep time back so you're still playing catch-up no matter what you do.

Wow so you went all that way to Darwin to do laundry...awesome holiday so far...and blokes that than organise a meal...must be something in the water...oh wait there is...:D

No. No. No. Not greedy at all, Mr Elf. A chance of optimal pleasure shouldn't be passed by though, should it??? ;) A greedy girl would not ensure that the pleasure is mutual, no?

Mmmmm. And I just don't belong on either of Santas lists. What shall I do now?

Meanwhile, you just continue what you're doin while we consider a new strategy.....

Well since this is your present, I'm happy to wait for my turn, besides when you are enjoying a spa your not thinking of returning the favour...its kinda like that...

Continue with what I'm doing...well now you certainly are living on the edge...my darkelf intentions could take my hands and tongue anywhere ;)

Evening all,

Had our first real burst of summer today, cool change already here down to high teens tomorrow with some wet stuff for the next couple of days, just in time for the weekend...oh yeah, no mowing.

Hope all have had a good week. Nice and quiet one for me at work after the last few weeks. Don't forget daylight savings on Sunday, hate that crap.
