God

God -- a sentient superior being who created the universe, created humans, is aware of their daily movements, has moral and ethical rules for them to follow, and provides an afterlife for the dead.

Not a mist of energy. Not the good feeling you get in your tummy when you eat ice cream on a hot summer day. Not our collective unconscious. An actual manifest force that made us, knows who we are, has rules, and can make us live after death.

This is an astonishing claim. If you espouse it, you really should be able to back that shit up.

Prove God exists.
I have covered this elsewhere.

Bacon and Mila Kunis are proof that God exists.

It hurt me to have to defeat you that easily.

They're proof that animal husbandry and attractive people who fuck each other and have children exist. God's got more 'splainin' to do.
No. If I'd started with Slurpees and Kathy Griffin, he'd have more splainin to do.

Bacon and Mila Kunis are the crowning achievements in a long line of false starts and lesser foods-slash-sitcom-turned-movie-stars.

If God existed I'd be eating bacon while fucking Mila Kunis, because that's how magic works.

(I have actually done one of those things. Guess which?)

Proof

The professor of a University challenged his students with this question. "Did God create everything that exists?" A student answered bravely, "Yes, He did."

The professor then asked, "If God created everything, then he created evil. Since evil exists (as noticed by our own actions), so God is evil. The student couldn't respond to that statement causing the professor to conclude that he had "proved" that "belief in God" was a fairy tale, and worthless.

Another student raised his hand and asked the professor, "May I pose a question?" "Of course" answered the professor.

The young student stood up and asked: "Professor does cold exist?"

The pofessor answered, "What kind of a question is that? of course cold exists... haven't you ever been cold?"

The young student answered. "In fact sir, cold does not exist. According to the laws of physics, what we consider cold, in fact is the absense of heat, but cold does not exist. What we have done is create a term to describe how we feel if we don't have body heat or we are not hot."

"And does Dark exist?" He continued. The professor answered "of course". This time the student responded, " Again you're wrong, Sir. Darkness does not exist either. Darkness is in fact simply the absence of light. Light can be studied, darkness cannot. Darkness cannot be broken down. A simple ray of light tares the darkness and illuminates the surface where the light beam finishes. Dark is a term that we humans have created to describe what happens when there is lack of light."

Finally, the student asked the professor, "Sir, does evil exist? The professor replied. "Of course it exists, as I mentioned at the beginning we see violations, crimes and violence anywhere in the world, and those things are evil."

The student responded, "Sir, Evil does not exist. Just as in the previous case, evil is a term which man has created to describe the result of the absence of God's presence in the hearts of man."

After this, the professor bowed down his head, and didn't answer back.

The young student's name was ALBERT EINSTEIN.

Yeah, but...

...just as our collective intellect is so much more progressively advanced today compared to America's God-revering founders and framers on this very same issue, we are also so much more enlightened than Einstein today compared to his place in ancient history.

If only the founders and Einstein knew then what we know today...

...they would not believe in God, either.

Or...

...so goes that irrationality.

No, thats' not proof. That's a nice story about how someone who possibly believed in a God rationlised his existence in his own mind. But at no time is there any actual real, concrete, irrefutable evidence/proof being discussed.

I quote Weinberg (again...): Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

Like that "actual real, concrete, irrefutable evidence/proof" of man evolving from apes? Is that the kind of "fact" you demand?

That's "a nice" quote which has absolutely nothing to do with whether there exists a god or not...

...nice job demonstrating your own objection.

In science there is a Law of Physics called the 1st law of Thermodynamics. The "closed system" is a scientific term that refers to a system or an "area" that has no outside influence, like the universe. To those who believe there is no God the universe would be a closed system without outside influence (God).

The first law of thermodynamics states that you can never have an increase or decrease of energy/matter in a closed system, which means that matter/energy can not be created from nothingness. How did we get all the matter and energy in the universe? If science is all there is and there is no God, then the 1st Law of Thermodynamics reigns supreme and therefore it would be impossible to have matter and energy in existence right now. Simply put, when you open your eyes and see matter and experience energy, what you see is impossible according to the the known Laws of Science if, in fact, there is not God. Therefore, Science itself proves there must be a god.

god is real.

Yes Sweetheart he is. People will laugh but I'll tell you the difference he made in my life if you ever want to hear it. Almost wanted to take a header off a cliff if you know what I mean. But I am still here getting to meet great people like you. Got to love that.:D

that's what counts.

thanks god for everything an everytime you wake up.

he's the man.

Exactly, there is nothing to prove that a God exists. There is however, quite a lot of science based evidence that indicates the world wasn't made on a Wednesday afternoon about 4500 years ago and that it's actually been around for about 4.5 billion years.

true.

fair, have you ever watched Ancient Aliens, if not.. How the earth was made on the history channel? good episodes/series they both have.

i like smoking my weed an zooning into it.

There is a weird irony to you using the science based first law of theromdynamics to attempt to prove a God exists. Do you see the funny side of this?? Are you suggesting God is exempt from this law?
From what I understand science is still working on the matter/energy thing but without throwing their hands up and saying "it must be God or some other supernatural being."

Well God - Definately put you in my life. LOL. Try the experience without weed. That would be a real trip.:rose:

I believe in the open system of the universe, yes. God influences the universe.

Believe it or not, a 5 year old child could be an atheistic scientists worst nightmare by merely asking him "Where did everything come from if God didn't make it?' What that child is actually asking in scientific terms is "how do we have a violation of the 1st Law of Thermodynamics by the creation of energy and matter in the closed system of the universe if there is no Creator capable of doing that?"

Many times people who do not believe there is evidence of God have claimed that a faith in God is only a matter of faith and that it can no be proven scientifically. They say "does God Exist? if so prove it to me" When confronted with this we must fully understand what it means to "prove" something.

The fact is that none of us were there when the universe came into being, so technicaly, none of us can "prove" what happened. We can't "Prove" God did it and atheists can't "Prove" everything came into being on it's own, so what we have to do is examine the evidence based on science to determine the most plausible explaination. For example, if I see a beautiful sand castle on the beach with intricate design, but no one there along with it, I can not "prove" someone made it, just as someone else can not "prove" the sand castle made itself from the wind, waves, and sand randomly interacting with one another, so we have to determine what logic and reason tell us is the most plausible explaination, based on scientific evidence and examination.

Scientifically, if there is no God, it would be impossible to have matter and energy in existance right now.

weed makes me get into it more.. like focus :)

by the way, good morning sweetheart :) :rose:

Hey, you sure shook the boards up yesterday. I went to work and came home and it was like total LifeNdeath debate. What was that all about. Last I knew you were have a quiet 6 pack and I was having my diet pepsi. Yikes:eek:

Just be yourself. I think it is more likely they want to see how you withstand the pressure of being criticized. You are a neat presence on the boards. Everyone will be trying to get you to pm them by Christmas. I told you that I have never done weed. So you claim it helps you focus. Others have told me it makes you feel like you just don't give a shit. Is it different for different people then? LOL:confused:
