Can a woman of a certain age be hot?

A woman of any age can be hot. Certainly you prove that looks only get better with the years. :)

Yes I did watch the tennis, and being a Scotsman enjoyed Murray at last winning an open.

Not to use another cliche, but to do so nonetheless, some say that familiarity breeds contempt. I'll be pleased if your faith in me turns out to be justified over the next year.

In your case familiarity will bread contentment. :)

I saw some comments about a bikini? So bummed if I missed that

There may have been a reference or two, but, no, you've not missed anything of consequence.

Apropos of bikinis, I've only ever had one in my life. Most of my summers growing up were spent in and around the water when I wasn't doing my summer reading for school and pleasure and in later years waitressing for pin money. I learned how to swim at the public pool and went water skiing on weekends with my rich uncle's family on the local river. As a result I always took a very utilitarian and practical approach to swimwear. For those old enough to remember I was partial to Esther Williams suits, not at all daring or revealing and never at risk of accidental exposure. Suits for the real swimmers, not the sunbathers.

The last big vacation I had before I met my photographer was a trip to Puerto Rica with four g/f's. They hectored me relentlessly to try something less frumpy and I finally compromised by purchasing a two-piece that I felt safe swimming in. I still had it a few years later when my photographer took the picture in the following link:

https://www.***********/s/i3ra9sujrolwg40/486-Spring of 1974, age 28, in my two piece.jpg

My one and only bikini was a treat to both me and my photographer as a reward for all my hard work getting in the best shape I was ever in. I had gone off the pill and lost all my "water" weight. (Women who've been on the pill and gone off know what I'm talking about.) Some of that "water" drained out of my breasts decreasing them to a still ample C. Most days I jogged six to eight miles and substantially increased my muscle tone and stamina. I dropped all the way down to 120 lbs spread over my true 5'8" frame. No false modesty now, but I had a body to kill for at the ripe old age of 37. The following link shows me topping out at a full 6' in my 4" heels:

https://www.***********/s/yaufm2g47kw0z42/486-Summer of 1983, age 37, in my bikini and heels.jpg

This bikini never went near the water, not counting our lawn sprinkler. I wore it sunbathing in our side garden, surrounded by a very high privet hedge. Modesty compelled me to ask my photographer to trim back some of the excess growth of my pubic hair so that there were no wisps escaping the edges of my bikini bottom.

This photo is a scan of a Kodacolor print, taken in one of our guest bedrooms. The prior owner had a penchant for green - carpet, drapes, gingham wallpaper - and we hadn't had time to redecorate yet. My sallow skin looks positively bilious in the color print. I've tried and failed to adjust the color balance and B&W didn't work either. The best I could do was the sepia tone you'll see.

The CBS announcers kept identifying Murray as Great British, saying he was the first Briton to win a tennis open since Fred Perry in the '30's.

The more important question is whether Scotland will qualify for the World Cup in Brazil, isn't it? Or are you not a football fan(atic)?

I may be partial as I am a mature male but I find the more mature females the biggest turnon.

seems to me that you have good genes, and that will not change in six months or a year.

Thanks for the compliment, not that I had anything to do about the genes I inherited. My success at making the best of them has varied over the years. Now's a good time I would say.

Agreed. G B Shaw is usually cited as the originator of the aphorism appropriate in this context: Youth is wasted on the young. None realize it till they're our age. lol

I'm afraid that the chances of Scotland qualifying for the world cup are slim, like England we rely too much on foreign players which makes the game skillful and exciting but does not lead to the development of home grown players.

Thanks for the compliment. I share your sentiment that age has nothing to do with how hot you are. If it's there on the inside it will shine through.

I hope that doesn't mean that you've given up following them and cheering them on.

My photographer has followed English football since the mid '70's when public television in NY began showing games on Sat afternoons. I've never heard him say much about the SPL except that it was dominated by the two big Glaswegian clubs, now the one big Glaswegian club.

I don't know what the problem is, but it appears to be at *********, not with the link in my post. It worked fine when I previewed the draft of my post before submitting it for my thread.

What I did notice on ********* was that there's a message bar above the main screen and on the left of it there's the name of my file. When I clicked on it the photo in question popped up into my iMac preview program. You might give that a try, though I realize it's a bit of a bother. Maybe the result will be worth the extra click.

Glad you liked the photo from 1983.

I was able to open it...Fantastic. Love the dark long hair. You were blessed with curves in all the right spots :)

Is it too early for me to worry?

But no one else has noticed that I shared two new photos in a reply to a post made by a subscriber to my thread. They are at #486. The link for the first hasn't been working correctly at *********. Try clicking on the file name in the upper left of the message bar on ********* as a work-around.

Seems as if SI missed out on a hot covergirl!
Very sexy Rose!

Big smile. Thanks!

Do you think I could compete with Cheryl Tiegs, assuming you're old enough to remember her?

Rose

My pleasure Rose! That smile lights up the world.
I remember Cheryl and YES you could compete with her and win!
