I can't say for sure, Thryi. I can only say that in this case my inclination is that you're using a weapon beyond its intended use and it's failing you accordingly. Sorry to hear that, though.

*Nods* I'll keep working with it. And I did enjoy our conversation about it. I know this isn't a shooting forum, but I enjoyed hearing your input nonetheless.

Anything outside of 100 yards for me is in the range of my BAR. Anything less, for me, is in the hands of my Glock 23 in .40. I suppose that in both cases there's room for overkill.

I just like the versatility of both cartridges in their roles.

When you say BAR, do you mean Browning Automatic Rifle? If so, I'm so envious, though I imagine it would knock me on my butt to shoot it.

I do. Modern variant, though. It's not a WWII Relic. I'm a big fan of the .30-06 cartridge. It's an amazing round and the Browning family of auto-loaders handles it beautifully.

Browning was a genius designer. Did you know that was Clyde Barrows' favorite gun? Didn't save him in the end, but he had a sawed off version of it.

The modern BAR is quite different than the old John Browning design popular back in the day. It's strictly a hunting gun now. But, it's elegant and smooth. I'd trust it with almost every major game you could imagine running into in the States. I've never used it on anything except deer but when it hits a 200 pound buck and drops it on its back?

Well, you know you have quite the cartridge.

Hmm... these clouds are looking pretty ominous, but I know it's still a long shot for a bit of rain.

I hate the humidity.
