Writing Goal for the Day?

And the beat goes on. No excuses!

I'm reading yet another novel George V.Higgins cranked out. Its IMPOSTERS. The plot, in a nutshell is: a tv news anchor murders an old alcoholic who killed several people in a massive car wreck, the dead included the anchor's wife and kids. The librul judge gave the drunk 20 months in jail.

The first 150 pages is awful. Its awful cuz all the characters and dialogue and Middle Class, and banal. Beyond page 150 the characters and chatter are proletariat and interesting. I admire Higgins' gift for capturing people as they really are, but 150 pages is too much.

You know --- I had about a month between one story and being able to sit down and write again and it has felt wonderful to spend my day writing today. I finished the short, but steamy contest story, and I just finished a short, but sweet non-erotic story. I have days like these after taking a break from writing, even if it was a forced break - thanks to technology.

Hello everyone.

Just rolled off the couch after a quick nap after work.

Now I'm going to try and pound out another full chapter tonight for the story I'm working on. I don't set a word count, I just write stuff until it seems good or until I realize it's drivel, delete it and start over.

Just blogged. Ha. Less than two weeks between posts this time!

And LC, not that you read my blog, but please don't read this one. I talk about the impact of 50 Shades as I see it. I'm not promoting it, just discussing.

My first story is up and getting passable votes. Time to start another. I have an idea in my head, "The Psychology of a Groupie."

I had errands all day, but have been plotting in my head as I went.
This evening I'd like to get the next chapter started--maybe 3 pages?

Inspiration can come from the weirdest places, like a long and boring conversation with my mother (and no, not for an incest story ).

So while I feel silly posting in this thread since I haven't posted a story in close to a year, my goal is to re-write a stubborn introduction in one of my half-finishsed stories. With any luck, I'll get something done before that one-year mark goes by.

As expected, my Alpha beta reader had some qualms -- not huge -- with my summer story. I am pondering and think it will not require drastic measures. I'd still like to submit the story on Monday or so... hmmm... Mr Penn and PennBoy will be out this evening so perhaps I can have some quiet time after PennGirl goes to bed.

Make some progress on my second Summer Lovin Entry, "Three Feet of Cock." (Don't worry, it's not three feet all on the same guy. It's spread out.) I've basically broken it up into parts I need to work on. Only two and a half sections to go. Probably five or six pages. And then I need to review it and submit it...

My Summer Lovin' story is in its fifth or sixth re-write in my effort to prevent it from being a novella. Hopefully I'll finish it this weekend.

I got some writing down early this morning and am going to tackle some while trying to talk with the daughter on facebook - she takes a while sometimes to reply to me. lol

I will get done a post for my blog, and I will try to start chapter 12 of "Time's Changes" today as I have a great idea for a plot twist for that fan fiction story! :D

I was able to put just under 3000 words in for my erotic horror story, so I'm calling it quits for the day. Good luck writing everyone. :)

I sent in a new story yesterday, so that's good. Of course, the idea for it came up nearly full-blown and distracted me from the other one I'd been working on.

After re-reading the interrupted story, I came to realize it was heading in a direction I wasn't entirely comfortable with. A large section got snipped and resuming the path should be much easier now.

Just wanna tell someone (cos there's no one to tell here at home right now) that I've just finished my August 2012 50,000 word Camp NaNoWriMo challenge (with 3 days to spare!).

Woohoo! :nana:

Shame the story's not finished yet, but who knew that I could actually churn that many words out in a month, LOL?

Happy. :D
