IDK...a lot of cops/military never come under fire either, doesn't mean the civilians are some how less trained/prepared than cops. A gunfight is a gunfight regardless of your status as a civilian or otherwise, and that status has no bearing on your level or preparedness.

However none of this is to say there are not a lot of dumb ass untrained, unprepared civilians as well. Because there are....and I don't think we should necessarily be handing out M4's to those folks either.

I like the idea of will issue licencing just like drivers. Your training/certification levels determine what kind of hardware you are allowed to pack and where. It would be great to have all the gun laws under one reg too, it would eliminate interstate issues. Honestly I think as long as they made it a shall issue basis no one would have a problem with it.

I was only ever under live fire in a city once, Belfast. Full platoon and we didn't have a fucking clue where the shots were coming from. This was the middle of the night when the street was empty.
