Also, I have always been partial to snatch, but I will admit that it is best suited for non-sexy situations.
I have seen many performances at Delacorte threatre. You missed my point. Shake is not selling like Potter and 50 shades. Nor will it ever. You prove my point about theatre being big back then because there was TV and all the stuff we have now. As far as opinions becoming facts. Not true. Harry Potter adn 50 shades are selling much more these days then Shake. FACT.
Please pay closer attention to my wording. In your hasty response, you miss a lot of very specific things I say.

I am trying to train mine to come when called. It must be hard of hearing, though, because so far it only works if you get really, really close.
Pussy and cunt, mostly. Sometimes It.
I wonder how many people were even literate in Shakespeare's England... they were plays, performed for an audience![]()
true...Shakespeare is outselling them
lets see what is still selling in 400 years... 50 shades of twillight or Romeo and Juliet
you're one of those people who thinks because something is popular right now it will always be popular
Shakespeare is sold in all nations on Earth... all nations...hell, they have Shakespeare in North Korea
how can you compare something which is popular solely in North America with something which is also a bestseller in North America right now and the rest of the world, and has been for 400 years
how you dont understand that something is still being bought and sold for 400 years is infintely more successful then a trend is baffling
I just bought the complete Shakespeare box set.
I go to Juilliard. What does that have to due with your weight problem?? BUT, if you want to exist as a fat slob; there is a market just for YOU! Black men LOVE the BBW's...
So please; do not feel left out...

Don't be daft, you cannot self educate.
Can you show me where Shake ranks on todays top 100 best sellers?? Trend or not. The two books I mention are currently outselling him. But, if you insist, I will check the NY Times best seller list. Perhaps, I missed something. If Shake is #1 or even in the top 10 of the current list; I will admit I am wrong...BRB. Molly
Shakespeare is considered the top best seller of all time with an estimated worth between two and four BILLION...hell, the Brand Finance corporation estimates his name alone as garnered another 1 BILLION in related royalties
JK Rowling measures in at just under 450 million
you are once again confusing right now..with the entirety of history
Shake wrote in a time before there was TV's and Ipads. He would not survive in today's literary world. People had nothing to do back then except to read. Do you see his books flying off the shelves in book stores?? Why is he not on the NY times best seller list?? That is undeniable. He is not; nor has he ever been... Put shake up against todays authors; and he loses...
Had Shakespeare been writing now, He WOULD have been a best seller, I think.
Romeo and Juliet may or may not have killed themselves.
Hamlet may have ended up a whiny emo chick.
Othello may have ended up a Soldier with PTSD.
The stories would have mostly been the same though.
.... If no one's ever done it, I might have to write that Othello.
His books are readily available; so what does that have to do with anything? He was a whiny bitch. Othello was a faggot too. Students study him; they know him; yet they buy Harry Potter, when they can buy shake. Why is that??
molly
He had a 400 year head start honey. And in 10 years, JK is right on his ass. You continually miss my point. In TODAYS times, he would not be as successful? Why do you not get that? Whether JK or 50 shades is a 'trend or gimmick,' the BOTTOME line is that IN TODAYS TIME they are outselling him? Why is that? Evidently, in TODAYS WORLD, he did not stand the test of time. We are talking about TODAY. The fact is he is being OUTSOLD IN TODAYS TIME. So if he is so great, why hasn't the new generation been enamored by him? As they all know him from studying him in school. Why is that?? My original arguement was for RIGHT NOW not the 'rest of history.' Why isn't the new generation flocking to bookstores asking for his work; in the same manner they do for JK and 50 shades? Why is that? Don't literary genuises stand the test of time?? ~ Katarina

in 10 years time do you seriously think JK will be on his ass? her sales are already down from where they were were a year ago.. you dont think they will keep dropping...you really think Shakespeare will stop selling and JK won't?
your orignial arguement is is they were bestsellers.. Shakey has proven to be the worlds pre-eminent bestseller and will most lilely continue to be
popular doesn not mean genius... do you really think people will be buyin Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 200 years from now? do you think 50 shades of twilligt will be taught in high school in 300 years?
why? because they're not universal, they are topical and topical quickly fades
if he did not stand the test of time why is he sold everywhere... that is the very definition of standing the test of time...Stephen King will not be remembered as more that a footnote in 300 years, but Shakespeare will still be performed
your arguement is that because Mariah Carey has the same number of number one hits she's just as good as the Beatles
and once again... if people arent buying shakespeare why is everyone selling it..if they werent buying business' would be losing money..its the basic precept of supply and demand
I have to disagree with you about the Harry Potter books. She may not be considered genius in 200 years or so, but I think her work will be remembered.

I dont...she's a clever wordsmith... but her mundane references will quickly become dated... just the same as Stephen King
he was the big thing once upon a time but his works are clearly dated now
I can read shelly and not have to reference a history back... but Stephen King often needs a pop culture history book...it's only a matter of time before it happens to Rowling too
Sure, shake is sold everywhere; don't see a lot of people buying. My original arguement is that he can't hack it in todays world. People are well aware of who he is. Just because he's dead doesn't make it a fair competition; as you stated his books are being sold. Take 1000 students. Let them read a few pages of Shake. Then let them read a few pages of JK. Then ask them which book they would like to read/have. My money's on JK. It does not matter if Mariah has the same amount of #1 hits. Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston had less hits than the Beatles; yet they OUTSOLD THEM... Everyone know the Beatles, so why did they get outsold?? Thanks for bringing me more ammo. Again, everyone knows the Beatles, how did they get outsold with more hits under their belt?? Explain please...
molly
That would be very sad, I think those are good books for children/ young adults to read.
