What the...

Be very careful what you ask for. I'm a nudist remember. and an old nudist at that.
Well, you were the one who was boasting about being 'perfect'. :p

Ok, I think I should stop hijacking poor fellow's thread with non-writerly stuff. But, um, I can claim it's for research, yes?

Consider them asked for. :D

I have your e-mail address, ya know.

I was talking about perfection in my writing. Or more along the lines of how long my stories end up. You're the one who wanted pictures. ;)

Ah, hell, for the most part it was like in Grosse Point Blank, where John Cusack goes back to his home town and finds out the house he grew up in is now a convenience store.

It's been several years since I'd wandered through AH. I remembered it differently. As long as it still works, that's okay. I haven't spent a lot of time on the boards for quite a while, so I haven't kept up with the evolution...

I'm waiting.

I always thought that this was the place where everybody came to shoot the shit, get snarky, tell lies, piss and moan about stuff, look for sympathy, yank peoples chains and generally do what people do when they get together.

The nutters can stay in the GB snakepit. ;)

Who says I can't be concise. :D

Now if I could just do stories that way.

Tes don't change a single thing about how you write your stories. I just read your latest submission and gave it a 5. Thank you.

As to LC and his comment. I seldom agree with him but his comment on the GB is spot on. It has turned into such a shit hole I seldom read anything there and almost never post. So if I have something that may be interesting in a general way I post it here. Fewer readers but a lot better audience.

Thank you for the vote and read.

We used to issue chem suits to those who wanted to visit the GB. They are so eaten up they are worthless now. ;)

The support thread for the current or forthcoming themed contest is often about writing, and one of them is there all year round.

There is an opportunity to discuss writing, but many of the writerly threads are started by newbies who think they have an infallible, universally-applicable, method for...

After picking holes in it, or stating 'that would never work for me because...', the thread usually concludes with 'Whatever works for you is valid.'.

When those of us have been here for years see such a thread we shrug our shoulders and repeat what we have said many times before, that no writing system suits everyone.

The Seldom-Used Words thread is also about writing since the use of words is critical for an author.

Edited for PS. At the moment on the first page of the Authors' Hangout I count SIXTEEN threads that I consider to be about writing. How many do you need? Ignoring the Stickies, there are 40 threads on the front page.
