Live action I don't think mark would be a good joker...for voice acting I wouldn't have it any other way. I think that's part of what made the new games So good. The voice acting.

Guess I should have been clear.

Expecially given the games, I'd rather excellent animated batman to excellent live action batman. I'm still supporting Brave and Bold as outstanding.

Well if the stories from behind the scenes are true David didn't audition to be Angel he was walking his dog or some such rubbish when one of the ladies involved with production saw him, apparently got quite buttery in her nethers and gave him a job.

I think I saw that. Joss didn't think he had much talent, but he could see that the ladies in the room...didn't really care...and he went with it.

I'd be terrified of Kripke's Supernatural. I think Sam Raimi (Xena, Spiderman) could knock Buffy clear into the cheap seats and he's not doing much at the moment. Greg Wiesman (Gargoyles, Spectacular Spiderman) would probably do a very good job with it as well.

I'll admit though that I have a faith in Buffy that fucking up by accident would be a tad difficult. It's just a question of if you really wanted to keep the original tone. Batman (Adam West), Batman the Animated Series, Batman (Nolanverse) are all radically different interpretations of the same material and characters so I'm less worried about holding the delicate mix as I am seeing a good group of characters in a verse worth exploring.

Sam Raimi is too slapstick for me. I could never get into his stuff and he never really involves the thing that makes Buffy work. Drama and romance balanced with humor and fear. Raimi is really about the cheap shot. I love (some of) his stuff, but it's true. Raimi needs a Bruce Campbell to carry of his slapstick with enough charm to sell it.

Bruce is busy with Burn Notice, he'd probably show up for a cameo, certainly not as major a role as Giles unless it's after Burn Notice ends.

For the record I'll hold Batman the Brave and the Bold as being just as good as the Animated series and this from a guy who thinks Health Ledger doesn't hold a candle to Mark Hamill.

You don't think...Heath...what? Norman, does not compute.

Okay, so I'm thinking of finally playing Dragon's Age. I can get the original for $15 or the sequel for $20. Is there much of a difference between the two as far as gameplay is concerned?

You can get the ultimate edition of the first one for 20 bucks. That gives you the game and all the dlc. At least for the the ps3 anyway

Yes, they're pretty different.

The first is still really playable so I'd start with that. The narrative of the second directly relates to the narrative in the first, so it's good to get the background.

I think the first is a bit more ragged in ways, but also has the best story. The second is a bit lighter and easier on the social aspect, but is more limited in your actual options of how you can affect the story. In DA1 you can genuinely be a good person or a bad person and see the world transform. In DA2 you can be a good person or a bad person and the story pretty much goes ahead the same way.

DA1 in play mechanics can have some troubles with inventory being an issue, with parts of the game being very long. DA2 has streamlined the inventory, but made the talent tree more complicated. In DA2's favor, the quests are easy and quick and there are a lot of them instead of having four or five major slogs in DA1.

When you start DA2 you meet Flemeth, and although that means something to someone who has played DA1, she's just a hag who talks too much to those who haven't. It's worth knowing Sandal and Bodahn first. Enchantment!

Mark retired as the joker after city though :(

I'll believe it when I see it. This is like the third time he's retired as the Joker and he keeps coming back just like all the rest of them do when it's something important.

Between Herc and Xena, especially Xena, Raimi is slap stick cus he finds it fun. He's more than capable of being quite serious if the situation calls for it.

Being fair I'm don't think Heath is half as good as he gets credit for. I think he had the good fortune to die and get a shit ton of bonus points that had people over looking that there was very little funny about this Joker, terrifying? Hell yes but I like the Joker where you're kinda laughing until your brain catches up with the situation and you're reminded this isn't funny.

The Joker isn't supposed to be funny.

The Joker isn't supposed to be funny.

He's hilarious in every single incarnation except the newest one. If he's not supposed to be funny then Nolan is the only person to get him right since he first appeared in 1940. Somehow that seems unlikely to me.

Yes, but you're a moron, so whatever seems unlikely to you is probably the way it is in reality.

I thought he was very good before he died. His loss is a tragedy, but isn't what made him talented. I don't care for lots of dead celebrities that didn't strike me as particularly talented before they died. *cough Kurt Cobain*

It's not just the Joker, though he was excellent in that for many reasons. It's his body of work.
The Joker was not funny. The Joker was particularly terrifying because of the little tiny bits of demeanor and voice work and body positioning, altering center of gravity and voice and moving lips in a particular way that indicates disorganized thought.

I thought the guy did an amazing job. But I also thought he did an excellent job in Knight's Tale, The Order...

I'd put him in the rank with Charlize Theron. Absolutely gorgeous, but can genuinely act and be ugly and doesn't rest on laurels of beauty.

Nolans joker was more of the 80s style joker. Think like the killing joke. Hes really dark and completely fuckin insane. You never knew what nolans joker was going to do. When he came in the room was he going to kill you or shake your and and hand you a 50.

btw Killing joke is probably my favorite batman story

Killing Joke is probably my second favorite. He still gets his yucks in in Killing Joke. He's scary a shit but he's still making jokes as he shoots Barbara in the spine for what's effectively no good reason.

There was a good reason. Any good person can snap after one really bad day. It was a social experiment

Let me rephrase. He didn't shoot Barbra because she was Batgirl. For me if a super hero gets shot by a super villain for any reason other than pure as the driven snow vengeance it falls under the no good reason category. But I was unclear that was my bust.

Which doesn't take away that he still managed to get in a few good jokes like the one about his past being multiple choice. Heath worked the mythology in but there was nothing funny about how he got those scars however he got them.

Oh Skyrim. Now I'm in pretty much permanent godmode and I'm loading lockpicks. There's no way I'm schlepping back to town to buy 5 of them after 45 minutes.

Well those scar stories are like multiple choice. He also had a childlike excitement to the violance and carnage he cause.

Back for the killing joke. I loved how he compared himself to Batman. It really was the truth
Also loved his last joke.

Oh man, my son just encouraged me to cast raise zombie on a dragon skeleton. AWESOME.
