An adult would recognize that the fault lies in the user, inevitably, because whether moderated inconsistently or not the rules for our board were clearly stated. Further, an adult wouldn't give a shit, because an adult would understand that this porn board is operated by a handful of people making money on advertising and they delegate things like forum moderation to volunteers because they couldn't give a shit what the users actually think.

And therefore, by design, an adult wouldn't give a shit either.

But no. We're going to all pretend we're so offended by the principle of fair and equal rights and just abhor the fact it's not happening on a porn board. Because, of course, it's so prevalent in the real world for things to be fair and equal. Just ask black people. Or homosexuals. Or women.

You're all fucking children.

I was polite because I thought the legalities that would produce those kinds of rules were something most hadn't considered. Then, after the constant bitching, I realized that like most things here it was about sounding pseudo intelligent and lending faux support to a cause nobody actually gave a shit about.

It's about being whiny and false and "kind" to one another. Even if in this case kind is so clearly insincere.

Whatever, honestly. I shouldn't have bothered. I should have known better.

Inject a little sense into this place and you're bound to be disgusted by the reactions. I shouldn't bother and up until this point haven't for the better part of two years.

Yes, the rules were very clearly stated.

The problem is that they were clearly stated as differently than they were enforced, as I've pointed out. One set of rules either doesn't apply in one part of the forum but does in another, or they're simply being enforced wildly inconsistently. And how truly terrible that someone would want to know which it is. I'm sure it's an issue that won't ever come up again, either.

But please, don't let me interrupt your ranting. It can't be said that it's not at least entertaining.

Missing the forest for the proverbial trees but by this point I'm not surprised. I'm sorry the inconsistency of volunteer moderation on a porn board is so offensive to you. I am, however, very impressed with your problem solving attitude and positive community spirit. I think you should apply to moderate and help put forward an action plan to solve these things on your own.

There is obviously a terrible need for it. I'm not sure how we'll go on if it doesn't get fixed soon.
 
*chuckle* This so reminds me of when I was younger and use to get in trouble with my mom. "But Mom... he did it too..." *points* Her reply always was, "Young lady, never mind about what your brother did, we're talking about you."

Personally, I could care a fig less what goes on elsewhere on Lit. What I do care about is that we keep losing a thread, this makes twice. If we can keep it within the rules for Veroe in VI, there's no reason why it can't be done for a GIF thread.

The funny thing is, almost every gif posted came from tumblr, another organization that has basically zero ability to verify the age and/or consent of anyone depicted in those images.

Never mind the fact that you would also need to have that information for any nude models, which are clearly allowed to Lit's rules.

Or the fact that Lit still has no ability to verify the ages of anyone posting pictures in the AmPic forum.

And all of this seems to be the crux of your argument.

If that's why the ban is in place, then the ban should be for all images. Otherwise, it makes no sense. Posting a naked 16 year old who's standing against a white background is just as illegal as posting a naked 16 year old who's being gang banged. Under the way they seem to be occasionally enforcing the rules, only one of them would actually be a violation of their rules, and only one of those pictures would be deleted. They'd still have no way of verifying the age of the 16 year old that's just standing there. Just as tumblr has no way of verifying the age of the woman James Deen is fucking in the twenty thousand gifs on their site, that are actually hosted on their servers.

Anyway, this is the part where you call people children some more.

I explained where the rules might have come from. I didn't defend, or care to defend, how they're enforced. For some reason it's hard for me to take it seriously given the fact that this place is a cess pit of perversion and nobody here really is here for fair and equal treatment. We're here to write porn. I know that so many of us pretend it is about friends and love and all the things it isn't about...

but it's about porn.

So, I don't know. You might want to take a little bit of perspective with that in mind and stop pretending you give a shit about how the forums are moderated. Or, if you really are crazy enough to care, go ahead and moderate.
