american olympic basketball

also, is the old guy who does the boxing drunk?

don't worry. you don't have to answer that.

Where are the Harlem Globe Trotters when you need them ?

Yo, Meadowlark, you out there ?

so now I see that there are those complaining that the US team ran up the score. The final score (156-73 ) was a reflection of the basketball talents of those teams on the floor, and the true fact was that it could easily have been 200-14. That said, the original intent of the Olympics, long since dead, was for amateur athletics cometition. The fact now is that there are professional athletes competing, and this is no longer an amateurs venue. If you think, as I do, that it should be strictly amateurs, then that's one point to discuss. But the fact is, it is not. The other point to be made is, as long as an individual is on a team playing in a sport, it is their responsibililty to play to the best of their ability, no matter how crushing or lopsided that outcome may become. If you arrive at the Olympic level wanting a hug, continue until you find the entrance to the Special Olympics... everybody gets one there.
