People across much of the planet were having problems accessing Twitter on Thursday, a day before the 2012 Olympic Games are expected to cause a spike in use of the micro-blogging site.

The San Francisco-based company acknowledged the problem, saying in a statement that its engineers are "currently working to resolve the issue," although it didn't go into any further detail.

Well here in London, the first part has started over on BBC 1 it's mens football gb vs senegal. Just find the timings, considering the program started half hour ago, a little bit of a coincidence

Twitter has never really been known for, you know, working. It's super buggy, hence the "fail whale" meme, but it's become immensely popular anyway, so who cares? I do think it's funny when people get livid about it, though.
