is a new Steve Jobs and Bill Gates. Lets face it, it wasn't until technology exploded in the 80's did we enjoy the biggest boom in the economy. The rush of new toys, productivity tools for work which helped fuel imaginations and provide for the next great wave of technology.

Government didn't built it. We (the private sector) did it besides what the government was doing.

Okay that might not all be true, but lets face it Cater was a complete fuck up. Reagen spend massively on military and this bled over into the private sector most likely giving Apple the foundation and tools to build upon. During this time the home computer market was born as well as the idea of computer on everyone's desktop at work. Atari gave way to Nintendo.

Bush I, did anything happen during this time in history?

Clinton, I'm not sure he did much to help grow the technology boom but he sure was one hell of a sales person. Technology the majority of homes now owned one computer and most office workers now had a computer on his or her desk. The advent of the Client Server world.

Clinton II, the world moved from the Client Server model to the advent of Al Gore's Internet and the creating of the ASP model. Massive growth in technology and the rise of the dot com bubble where business plans didn't matter, nor did revenue.

Bush II the end of the Dot Com world, as fluff no longer worked as investors wanted profits and ROI. The collapse of the Real Estate boom and flippers died. Bill Gates finally had a Box to play with, the xBox oh yeah and he got a girlfriend.

Bush II part 2, The collapse of Real Estate led to the collapse of Mom and Dad's American dream of owning a home. Stock Market crash and the end of the Day trader. 401's become 201's.

Obama, well this guy is a complete fuck up, unless you are part of the 1% and entitlement liver.

What will the next boom be? Virtual Reality? Holograms to make video games that 'real' feeling?

Microsoft is flat, Apple is growing by taking market share away from Cell Phone Makers. It seems that the gaming market has pretty much died off, except for Farmville and all those annoying games on Facebook.

So, what will get Americans to stop dipping into Facebook and start writing with their Checkbooks?

Has technology maxed out? Do we have one more boom left to enjoy? Obama has proven that massive government spending only harms long term growth and put us back into a Recession.....

Thoughts? Discuses....

Pasting someone else's words and then asking for thoughts is a cheap way to converse.

WTF? I wrote that, took a total of 30 seconds while I was answering emails

So, it sounds like I'm correct in my theory. We need a new technology boom as government has failed to rescue us from the Great Recession. Hopefully American's will wake up and we can avoid turning this Great Recessions into a Great Depression 2.0(*)

yeah, like someone would call Obama a complete fuck up other than myself?

Random irrational anti-Obama vitriol in an otherwise almost cogent post? Yeah, sounds like you on a good day.

Anyway, if you want a big boom, I think you're in for a let-down. The tech market seems poised for a series of small ones. At best.

I don't like political people...I don't like big government people. by my definition I don't like Bush II

I think there could be one big technology boom, that would benefit Amazon greatly but for this to happen we need min cable bandwidth into the home.

Wonder how many or percentage of homes have that type of pipe coming in?

I have a theory based on my experiences with government and corporations, its never been refuted:

Lotsa money buys lotsa assets and influence and results. Enough money buys pert nearly amything. We could, for example, do as Roosevelt did, locking up all the perfessers at Los Alamos until they created atomic energy. I spect alternative energy ideas would be plentiful if Obama took the same route.

But the energy companies control all the oil and coal and uranium, paid good money for them, and aint bout to do what John D.Rockefeller did to the American whaling industry with cheap kerosene...kill it.

Take electric cars. A local company makes electric vehicles...golf carts, utility trucks, etc. They wanna make electric passenger cars. GM sez NO. Feds wont let you make electric cars unless you got 5000 customers ahead of time.

Jobs and whatshisface had no competition from the mainframe and mini-computer people when they exploited the computer toy. And they slew them.
