26 Billion-dollar corporations pay no tax

I'm afraid if I click the link, my computer may become infected with liberal.

LOL no worries man...I read it and of course it's a narrow view, discussion only the effective income tax rate wile ignoring the billions paid in fees, licencing, permits and a million other taxes.

The whole tax clusterfuck is a red herring till we get control of the spending and what we buy.

I think the two kind of go hand in hand. Income and outgo have to have some relationship to each other, otherwise you can end up with a crippling National Debt...

Most of them have even been getting tax refunds.

There is something very wrong with this.

You do realize that corporations don't pay income tax no matter how high the rate is. No matter what congress does to impose higher taxes on a corporation it will never pay a dime in income tax itself.

Get this through your thick head...corporation don't pay income taxes, individuals pay income taxes.

You raise the corporate income tax rate and the corporation immediately raise the price of it's goods or services, thus spreading the cost of that tax to the purchaser of the goods or services, which in most cases is an individual consumer. In the case of another corporations purchase of those goods or services the increased cost are passed along to the next corporation or individual as the case maybe.

If the corporate tax rate is reduced, the price of goods and services come down.

It's called economics, you might want to read up on the subject.

What you don't think the premise is true? Of course if you have never owned a business or studied economics or business administration you wouldn't know about the concept of defraying costs. Any and all costs imposed or experienced are part of the price of the product of service, along with a profit margin, of a company, no matter how big or small.

Excellent points all. What liberals don't understand about what government is for, and what it is NOT for is the stuff of a malfeasant educational system, of which they tend to be awestruck. No government needs exist for the taxpayer to fund beyond 10% of incomes, the remainder being simply fraud waste and abuse by control freaks who have usurped the powers of government.

Because if youve ever owned a business or taken even a basic business class one of the 1st things you learn is that you cant just charge whatever you want for a product. You can only get what the market will allow. So yes while some of the costs are pushed onto the consumer, saying ALL taxes are paid for by jacking prices is just silly.

Really? Are you that ignorant, I won't call you stupid, 'cuz you can't fix stupid.

Prices are raised each and every time a cost to the company changes. For most companies it's a small percentage of the price, something a consumer may not even notice. A 10th of a cent at the gas pump every other day. A penny added to the price of a box of cereal. We aren't talking million dollar jumps on a single item here. Pennies per item if that.

And if costs are reduced the price comes down, 10th of a cent, pennies.

Youve clung to the notion that all taxes are thrust on the consumer no matter how many times other posters have pointed out your error. So I dont feel the need to debate the point with you.

Okay, live in you little bubble of utopian dreams, no skin off my nose, but you are pay the taxes imposed on corporation across the country every time you purchase a product from them. If you don't want to believe that fine.

Where do you get this magical 10% figure from? You repeat it often, it seems to be a mantra with you. I am curious as to the source. Surely you didn't just pluck it out of the air, did you?

What is the basis for this 10% you keep bringing up?

Can't fix stupid! You know rich people got there by eating taxes!! They can't just pass that cost on to their consumers that's just silly!!

It's a basic formula, the cost of essential government services never exceeds the 10% level of incomes. What constitutes 90+ % of taxes is for WANTS that have no real government service, what should actually be purchases from business if you desire the service... things like a retirement funds, health insurance, student loans, etc are private and personal desire WANT issues, not government responsibilities, and certainly not NEEDS.

Historically, the 10% figure has existed for centuries, and has traditionally been referred to as a tithe.

*facepalm*

Please TW tell me all about how business eat their cost of doing business and don't pass it on to consumers....I want to know how the fuck they are managing to do that shit and stay afloat. I could use some of that magical business voodoo, it may help me turn into the next Phillip Morris... billionaire who got rich by giving his money to other people. lmao

So it has no basis in FACT, it is an OPINION.

It is not provable, such as A squared plus B squared equals C squared.

What it costs to run a government depends on what kind of government you want to run. There is no magical set tax percentage to "run government". It is just based on your opinion of what government ought to be.

And anyone who disagrees with you should be labelled and insulted.
