Is there a difference between "slut" and "whore" in today's world?

"Slut" means that a girl is loose with her sexual morals, while "whore" means that a girl gets paid for sex. These days, the words are interchangeable.

The slut get's paid with food/drink/entertainment/fun....the whore takes cash. So no they are not interchangeable, the differing payment methods clearly define each term.

But what about the ones that just want the sex?

I'm not into labels. That is the problem today, we have to slap a convenient label on everything and everyone.

It's how we structure, organize and understand the world around us, it's inherent to the use of language which is nothing more than symbols with an assigned and agreed upon meaning, a label. Everyone labels everything in some form or fashion.

I think it is more a way for us to deal with what we don't understand, don't like, or fear. A sexually aggressive woman is labeled a slut or whore because society says so. A sexually aggressive male is labeled a stud. The difference isn't who does the labeling, it is who is the dominant force when the labels are handed out. The male is dominant now, so even women will use terms that are derogatory to themselves simply because they are raised in a male dominated world.

I agree that labels are part of society, but I don't think they are fair, nor deserved.

A man being honest with himself freely admits he pays for it in one form or another.

This being said, they are all whores.

Joke answer: I don't know. I understand whores pretty well.

Real answer: It has little to do with gender roles. Biologically, women are meant to be selective about who they copulate with to ensure healthy offspring. Men, on the other hand, stick it in whatever they can whenever they can.

You need to go take a communications/sociology class.

A cup is only called a cup because we all agree on what "cup" means. Cup is a label, we as humans, social, communicating individuals living together in a society label EVERYTHING in order to understand our world and communicate that understanding to others.

If we all agreed that the label (term) 'nigger' meant a type of fruit would the label 'nigger' be offensive? No...it would be something you went and got at the grocery store. But we don't...we all agree that it has a different meaning, an offensive one.

Right or wrong we still use the term 'slut' or 'whore' to describe a female, who behaves in a promiscuous way. If you wan't to consider the label and thus behavior in a derogatory fashion that's on you...personally I think it's hot when a woman does what she wants and just fucks because she enjoys it. What can I say? I love sluts!

So your HS pep rally "labeling is bad" is a total crock of fuck nugget horse shit.

Whores just leave when you are done. Sluts want cuddling and breakfast.

Considering the mixed definitions in here, I've been both.

i've met guys at a club and they left money without me asking for it. i was insulted up until the point where I bought a new pair of boots.

I asked a guy I used to date to take me to the amusement park and he flat out asked "what for?"
I responded" for the amount of cock I'm going to take tonight?"
"no," he said "i meant 'why do you want to go'. But, perfect answer, i'll get my keys."

Ladies, ladies, ladies - where are your standards?

A decent man will take you out to the amusement park, or any other diversion, even when you plainly tell him that you're not going to have sex with him. A good man will also take you to the amusement park, but then not ask you out again because you suggested he was the kind of person who'd expect sex in exchange.

It's called grown-up relationships. It's a magical realm in which people value each other for more than compatible body parts, are comfortable enough with sex to enjoy it when inspired without tethering it to archaic ideas of compensation, and everyone knows that the concepts of "slut" and "whore" are nothing but the hangovers of misogyny.

The difference is that Misses M likes being called a slut or a cunt when she's sexed up, but the word 'whore' is unacceptable.

Speaking of misogyny leftovers and equality, if she want's to go to the amusement park why doesn't she surprise her man and take him out? Why is it that a "decent" or "good" man has to be taking her out all the time hmmmmmm? M'usement parks are far from cheap entertainment if you didn't know.

You wan't REAL equality? You want to be treated with more respect, awesome! Start giving some and quit with the "my money is my money but his money is our money" attitude that is so prevalent among women in the western culture.

We too are human beings, just like women are not life support systems for a vagina men are not an ATM either. I really don't care either way....if I'm always paying I will treat you like the whore that you are, or you can show some effort and pitch in some way and I will treat you like an equal, you get what you give savvy?

You are 100% right...it is called a grown-up relationship, so don't act like a whore/slut if you don't wanted to be treated like one.

*froth* *froth* froth*

Nothing I said precludes women paying, or demands that men pay by default, oh ranting one.

Whether you're male or female, gay or straight, if you're in a relationship with someone who doesn't have money to spend on recreation (but you do), and you want to do more than hang out at home with them, why would it bother you to pay for excursions? It shouldn't, and if you're really into that person, you wouldn't have to wait around for them to tell you what they'd want to go do. You'd already know and would just surprise them.

And if you're in a relationship with someone who's on equal financial footing, then reciprocity should be a matter of course; it's just common decency and consideration, not a planned thing.

No matter who's rich or poor, it's just about being excited being with that person, watching them enjoy themselves and experiencing life with them.

If opening your wallet is motivated by sexual expectations, you're shallow, and it would serve you right to end up with the kind of partner that attitude attracts.

I've always consider a slut to be a woman that's overly easy to bed and a whore one that requires cash payment.

I also agree with the poster that suggested a woman could find the term "slut" erotic and stimulating.

I've not met a woman who felt that way about the word "whore."

If you're ever in my neck of the woods, I just might introduce you to some.
