According to the link following this paragraph, it was an all volunteer posses at no expense to the taxpayer. This goes back a few months on a petition to the sheriff to do a Cold Case investigation which originated in the early 80s that included a background check on Obama. Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio did not prompt this investigation on his own.
