Flags at half-mast please, music lovers.
The expert keyboards man, Jon Lord of Deep Purple has died.

If you are not quite sure what or who, try this.

Listen carefully, folks; you'll be hearing a bit of a legend. . . .

The man, as well as the entire group was amazing. Lord along with Ritchie Blackmore was an awesome combo.

The first real concert I ever saw-and my first real date as in I picked her up in my own car, was Purple at the Providence Civic center for the Perfect Strangers tour.

At one point they did a laser light show in time with a Lord keyboard solo, fantastic!

Hands down the best there was.

Damn, I done got old. I remember cruising in my friends Mustang listening to his Machine Head 8 track.

Funny how we move along, my kids think I'm old when I say I was rockin out to the cassette of Made in Japan.

The Hammond Organ had such a distinct sound and no one, no one, was able to utilize that sound as well as Lord; He was the master of the instrument and yet he was a phenomenal pianist as well. Rest In Peace dear Lord and thanks for so much incredible music, truly a gift for us all.

A huge talent has passed. Whenever I hear a C3, I think of him. He shared so much with us.

Rest in peace, Jon. :rose:

I was really saddened to hear about Jon Lord. Lots of good memories listening to Deep Purple. RIP Jon Lord. :rose:

I know. I remember boom boxes and video cameras that looked like huge big time Hollywood movie cameras on people's shoulders.

On the other hand, my kids listen to the Beatles, Zeppelin, Allman Brothers, Skynyrd, Neil Young, Talking Heads, Violent Femmes and others...
