If You're Concerned About America's Economic Situation, Please Read This...

OK I'm sure I'm going to get burnt for this. Let's talk about death panels. Is there any reason to spend a quarter of a million dollars to extend a persons life for three months?

Medical bills are numbers on paper.

That's why.

Of course then you won't ever be mentioning Reagan and his tax increases again, will you? You will also never again mention the huge portion of the 2009
Recovery act which was in the form of tax cuts (or you will stop giving credit to President Obama for that act).

Reagan didn't raise taxes enough to counter his spending. He did however raise taxes.

I will at the same time damn Obama for not raising taxes. It was a dumb thing he did.

And don't quip about what you 'have sacrificed'. That's irrelevant and not what I asked about.

Really? Didn't you just previously post this:

The question is, eyer, what are you personally willing to sacrifice?

And you unashamedly tout yourself as some sort of communication maestro on this Board?

If you need to retard further those great 2nd grader "debate" skills you more frequently expose, Ellie's still probably waiting with her baited breath for you to return to that "debate" you ran away from...

Everyone wants to fix the deficit, but most want to fix it on the backs of other people. Are ypu one of those? If not: Which of the big changes would affect you and how?

I have no interest in discussing with you or any other statist bozo - whether they realize they are one or not - theoretical "big changes" or what "we" are to do about any problem, because any world of "we" and "big change" is an impossibility unless an individual will walk the talk themselves first.

That means a walk alone to truly straighten one's own path before even beginning to think of joining a "we" path that eventually, by nature, automatically branches-off toward endless, meaningless directions relative to the individual numbers of the collective itself (as "debate" in this thread evidences).

Fact is, it's an impossibility for any collective to travel the same path, for a collective is nothing but a herd of lemmings that follow the endless dictates its masters declare.

I really don't hold it personally against you, Liar, because I truly understand that you were born a lemming...

...unfortunately you've grown-up a lemming and, even worse still, continue to choose to be a lemming even into your old age.

I don't debate lemmings any more than I'd sit down and have a beer with one: I don't drink and lemmings have nothing practical to offer, either.

If you ever get to the point in lemming life where the light finally gets through all the collective bullcrap and shows you the truth that though man is ultimately nothing but wormfood, while he lives there is no more value commodity in this world than his and and every other humans' individual liberty above all else...

...uh, never mind: once a Liar, always a Liar.

Not even I can communicate effectively with a brick wall. Especially one that apparently doesn't know the difference between past and future tense...

...or who answer a very simple realpolitik question with quasi philosophical ad hominem bogged logorrhea instead of anything resembling substance, to the tune of "I'm not gonna talk to you. Neener neener."

Suit yourself. You cling to the name of EllieTalbot as some sort of comfort blanket as if to upset or insult me, but in doing so you just embarras yourself. She is someone I disagree with, but who can and do engage in adult conversation. Compared to her you are an intellectual gnat.

Wow. I am really surprised that no one picked up this ball and ran with it except Hal.

I was saddened to learn of your unfortunate family history as a lemming and its obvious role in your actively choosing to remain a lemming as an adult.

If only you had been able to join the ranks of the above average lemmings -- those who demonstrated a little more initiative. You know. The pioneer lemmings.

Not to fret, squirrel...

...as you can see, your cousin rino lemming - the GB socialists' favorite "conservative" - has appeared to warmly embrace you in that collective bullcrap I menitoned previously.

I will have you know, I'm the first one off the cliff. Ha!

Seriously though, is that thing contagious?

First comes love, then comes marriage

Well most of you know the rest

I'm all for blaming both parties for the national debt, but let's level our scorn commensurate to party control.

"let's" not...

...you've proven with your post you're fully capable of handling that partisan job all by yourself.

You know the adage, What have you done for me lately, right?

For the past 2 years your Party has had full "power over the purse" of this great land...

...what's the debt done in those 2 years?

How many times has the issue of raising the debt ceiling arisen during those 2 years?

And how has your Party voted each time that issue has arisen?

I've posted before that the only true difference between the Republican Party and the Democrat Party is the speed it takes America to fully reach the collective, totalitarian state: Demos just want to get there as fast as their socialist butts can waddle, while Reps love to go a bit slower so they can drain every last drop of blood they can en route.

Just as there was/is no practical political difference between 43 and Obama as far as individual liberty is concerned, there is also no practical political difference between 44 and Romney, either.

Now, as a partisan Party man, I fully realize you are more than willing to hold your nose to stifle the stench, and shut your truth radar fully off when it comes down to actually voting for the statist your Party will nominate for the Presidency.

Thus the practical similarities to your Party and the other Party further parallel in truth by the fact that many Dems - as you so joyously point-out many times - will have to likewise hold their noses, cover their ears, and close their eyes to actually vote for their own statist bozo.

Probably, though, the most telling aspect of the practical similarities between both Parties is their American Idol insistence on voting for a personality to front a face for the Party, instead of putting forth a candidate whose political principles are anchored in America's Revolutionary beginning.

Barack Hussein Obama (or whatever his actual name is) and Milt the Wilt both hold very similar political and cultural principles, and even though Wilt's economic principles may hold a bit different color when he's in the private sector making the mulah, his factual history shows once he is elected to public office his economic principles immediately begin to dovetail with Barry's.

Barry Soetoro (or whatever his actual name is) is the very best candidate Dems can offer...

...Milt My Daddy Was George Romney is the very best candidate Reps can offer.

This is the big-time, vette: what does it truly say about each Party - EQUALLY - when all either offer America are such minor league choices?

This presidential election has become pretty glaring and cold. You are voting for candidates whose world view are different and completely opposite. There is no grey area here. I suppose it might shake out how America is really feeling. Well, at least by a percentage point or two.

And yet another meme I'm constantly reading over and over on this board is that there's really no difference at all between them.

Geez King, could we possible have a civil debate?

I'm just tired of hearing that decentralist shit. Any talk that smacks of "states' rights" makes both my hackles and my gorge rise. And education is much too important to be left entirely to local authorities. Look around the world at all the countries who have a better track record than America in that regard -- they all have vigorous national education ministries/departments.

OK, now I am getting where you are coming from. I need to do some research but thank you for talking to me.

America's wealth has been created out of debt... debt that cannot be paid back.

America's wealth has been created out of real things, labor and materials and brains and natural resources, and it's still here, still there, everywhere you look.
