I'd like to put a couple of hyperlinks into my (as yet non-existent) signature for the message board here. The traditional "a href" thing doesn't seem to work; I'm pretty sure I'm doing it right, but when I look at a preview of it I'm just looking at code that doesn't seem to do anything.

It just comes out like this:
"Good Intentions," formerly on Literotica as "Angels, Demons and Alex" is available!
<a href="http://www.amazon.com/Good-Intentions-ebook/dp/B0054E8QYE/">"Good Intentions" on Amazon</a>
<a href="http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/66516">"Good Intentions" on Smashwords</a>

<a href="http://www.literotica.com/stories/memberpage.php?uid=1229251&page=submissions">My stories here on Literotica</a>

Is there something wrong in my code that I'm just not seeing? Is there a non-standard way to do it for the boards?

The way to do it is non-standard. You have to click on the add-link tool bit button within Lit's signature editor. One of the links in my signature appears below. (I've added blank spaces to suppress showing the actual link).

I don't see the add-link tool button anywhere on the Edit Signature page. Is it hiding or do I need to start somewhere else? (Thank you for the help!)

There should be a white box with several toolbars. in the middle of the lower one is a globe with a chain. that is the insert link one.

Paste the link there and hit OK. there will be a blue center section when the link appears in the white box. Without hitting anything else, type in the name you want the link to have.

I cannot say why the tool bit isn't visible for you. It should appear just above the large white text box where you enter your signature, among the many other tool buttons. It's the "earth & chain link" graphic appearing just below the smiley face emoticon in the second row.

If those tool bits are not showing for you, you can always cut, paste and massage the line of code I gave you previously as a last resort. Remember to remove the blanks from C O L O R and U R L and to change the link description and the url reference, and you should be good to go.

Not saying this was OPs problem, but the pictures only appear if you have selected the correct option. When you go to the User CP tab and click on "edit options" under "settings & options," you have to select "standard editor--extra formatting controls" under miscellaneous options/message editor interface.

If "basic editor--a simple text box" is selected, there will be no pictures for the signature.

Oh, thanks! I had wondered about that. You've cleared up a nagging little mystery.

Thanks again.
