The worst state for health care says no thank you to ACA

I think everyone should have to spend a day in a VA hospital to get a better idea what government run health care looks like......

1st no one is talking about government run heathcare. 2nd VA hospitals have come a long way in the last 10 years, not saying they are perfect, but still.

No fucking shit....

"Yea I need to make an appointment for this arterial bleeding squirting from my head. "

"OK sir we can see you in 8 months on a Tuesday or next year on a Wednesday, which one works best for you?"

"I'll go down the street and forward the bill."

Let's not get started on how the doctors treat their patients....

That's why we still refer to it as the Veterinary Adminstration... just sayin'

I go to the VA Medical Center in DC once a year for a physical and have always been impressed with it. For the rest of the year I have private insurance. If the VA were closer, I'd go there for everything because it's a better experience than going to the doctor with my private insurance.

"We do not a a C-scan here. But we do provide bus services to our closet hospital with one" 213 miles away!

They go everywhere fast, clown. I just took one to Montana.

I do more in a day that your young ass does all week.

Fucker, please. Your fingers do more in a day on the keyboard than I do all week, is what you should've said. And speaking of asses, your toilet seat is the only other seat besides the one you're using right now that sees more action from your buttocks than the ones in the driver's section of your Hot Wheels collection.

Did you pay your gardener that $40 big cash to do the lawns you're too lazy to do yourself this week, or is he coming later in the month? :D

I call bull shit!

My ex father in law.. A Nam Vet. Spent 20 years getting worse and worse with what for 20 years the VA docs told him was MS. Then he noticed a lump on the back of his neck that turned out to be a tumor, the real problem. By then it was to big to be operational.........

On a side note I never go to the Dr. My wife scheduled me a annual physical at the Mayo. It was 7 hours of appointments with 6 different Dr's. I wanted to kill myself before it was over. I will not go back for another 10 years.

No one believes that, tubby.

That may be true at some VA's but I just was a project manager for two here locally and they are pretty fucking awesome facilities with all the amenities.

Well YEA in DC of course it's all pimpin, it's their premier facility. I know you don't honestly think that is the rule and not the exception.

Just like Walter Reed AMC is all lavish and has the latest and greatest, meanwhile over in Ft.Buttfucked they are still using old aid stations built in the 40's.....

Me I get my check up's/physicals/shots etc. But like you it's a drive so if there is an emergency then I just pay the bill.

Walter Reed closed and is now the red headed step child at the Navy facility in Bethesda.

I don't know what goes on out in the hinterlands. For free socialized health care like the VA though, beggars can't be choosers. I'm glad to have it even if I never use it.

Some of the outpatient clinics I had down in Austin TX were pretty damn nice, the waco hospital wasn't bad either. WA is allright....but they all share one thing in common. Getting an appointment on this side of "holy fuck I'll be dead way before then" is next to impossible. It's like the DMV x 10...

WERD? they must have put everything into Brook down in San Antonio, I went there once for my MEB and it was by far one the slickest medical facilities I have EVER seen not to mention the post in general. You know they make Egg's Benedict in the DFAC down there?

I know right! Fortunately a smashed hand is fairly cheap and we worked out a payment plan. So I don't have any nasty bills with my name on them come time to buy a new house.

... and budgeting is so poor here, public schools have started selling space on their buses for ads to try to raise some money.

Like our schools in North Carolina who complain of funds shortages, then hire nutritionists to check school lunch boxes, there's a lot of waste in your schools. Complain about that and get it under control before asking for more.

...and I think YOU should ask someone without insurance if they'd prefer a less-than-perfect government solution over the alternative of no medical care whatsoever.

Thanks to ObamaCare my daughter does not have insurance along with a few hundred thousand other kids..... maybe I will ask them?

What we are talking about here is an evolution into government run health care, where resources are controlled and allocated by the government, where health care decisions will be made by bureaucrats, where doctors, nurses, and other professionals will become de facto agents of the government. it's an evolution where mediocrity is guaranteed.

Americans are concerned for their liberty and their freedom to choose. The childish enthusiasm of naive fools pointing to the wonders of their new found paradise notwithstanding.

We very well may end up, down the road, with some form of government run health care. However I am not a doom and gloom person. If some future Americans vote for a government run universal health service, then clearly they think that's what's best for America. In the America I live in, we're still a democracy. The president never hide his desire for health care reform when he was running. The people elected him, and I know this really galls, but they elected every single democrat in congress as well. Just because you got out voted, doesn't mean we're on our way to a new Marxist socialist dictatorship.

Change is scary, I understand, but it is also inevitable.

It's not her fault that you refuse to take personal responsibility for your family's health care. The buck stops with you.

Hey dumb fuck even without medical insurance you still can get medical care.
