A majority of Californians believe that marijuana should be regulated like wine, according to a recent statewide poll sponsored by legalization advocates.

Sixty-two percent of residents in the Golden State support the Regulate Marijuana Like Wine Act of 2012, a ballot initiative that will be voted on in November. The poll, conduced by opinion research firm Fairbank, Maslin, Maullin, Metz & Associates, found that only 35 percent were oppose to the ballot.

Napa wine and Humbolt hemp, made for each other. :)

Does anyone else remember going to Pier One to buy real hemp sandals and then smoking your shoes. :D

But, then, I remember when few knew what that luxuriantly bushy weed was, and it grew wild in vacant lots. Good thing my parents weren't prejudiced. I was the only kid in the neighborhood who wasn't told to stay away from the newly-arrived Puerto Rican teens, and I quickly learned the virtues of selective harvesting.:D

I will definitely go to the polls and vote for legalization. The time is long past when MJ is treated as the basically harmless recreational drug, similar to wine, that it is.

Government-sponsored study destroys DEA’s classification of marijuana

Government-sponsored study destroys DEA’s classification of marijuana

A government-sponsored study published recently in The Open Neurology Journal concludes that marijuana provides much-needed relief to some chronic pain sufferers and that more clinical trials are desperately needed, utterly destroying the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency’s (DEA) classification of the drug as having no medical uses.

While numerous prior studies have shown marijuana’s usefulness for a host of medical conditions, none have ever gone directly at the DEA’s placement of marijuana atop the schedule of controlled substances. This study, sponsored by the State of California and conducted at the University of California Center for Medicinal Cannabis Research, does precisely that, driving a stake into the heart of America’s continued war on marijuana users by calling the Schedule I placement simply “not accurate” and “not tenable.”

It looks like the Government is going to have to change their tune?

Had a friend who made hemp beer. I didn't have it, but it was apparently quite good--even though it made one very hungry. I could see a lot of bars going for this. Sell drinks and food.... :D

There is if you want to get re-elected.

I think just the opposite of that. I don't think the votes fall in favor of legalized marijuana yet. I think the matter of accountable politician votes is exactly why this isn't ready to happen yet. As Box says, it will take a huge majority voting in favor to get the government off its history on this.

I don't think any of the state governors goes to bed with pink curlers in his hair and clutching a Teddy Bear.

I've been setting myself up as a post-teenage girl in Minnesota, but this could all be an elaborate hoax!

It's true! You always knew it was true!

I am...

Wait for it...

THE GAY GUY FROM MINNESOTA

A woman might wear curlers in her hair whether she is the governor of the state or not, and the teddy bear wouldn't be out of place either.

Might be, yes. Why don't you poll all of the women governors. I'll say you're brilliant and tuned in if any of them say they wear pink curlers to bed and sleep with a Teddy Bear. Bonus points if you find any male governors who will admit that they do.

It is just another drop of water on stone, eventually the liquid will prevail.

Such stories as this puts the issue up on the public attention frame and replaces the "Reefer Madness" ideology that has followed Anslinger's power grab. Replacing the "RM" has taken generations, it will take another to prevail.

Never forget that the enemy is deeply entrenched in the philosophy that drugs are too important as a means of revenue and control to ever break the CIA's control of drugs.

Follow the money!

For someone who knows shit about the subject, you have an awful lot to say about it. I guess that's just the way you are. Shoot your mouth off to look intelligent and always come across as the asshole you are. You and scummies are definitely cut from the same cloth, the one they use to clean the toilets.

So much for civility, I guess.
I fear for the future, if that is what our society has descended to.

and by the way, "Go Fuck Yourself!" and I mean that sincerely. :D

Sorry if you thought was for you, Jack. It wasn't. It would be for the know it all pilot, who has taken a good thread subject and decided we're all to stupid and only he knows what's right. Nice that he decided to add attacks to others in the process too.

Don't mind the 'Go fuck yourself', I get that all the time, LMAO:D
