Obama Care, How Will Be Judged On Thursday?

PIG PUSSY PELOSI speaks

Pelosi Trashes the Uninsured: 'Free Riders'

Now that the Supreme Court has concluded that Obamacare is a tax, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has trashed the uninsured--those whom the Affordable Care Act was supposed to benefit--as "free riders." Pelosi, speaking to Audie Cornish of National Public Radio, explained that new taxes were necessary because some (many?) of the uninsured actively choose not to buy health insurance, even though they can afford it.

Pelosi's change in attitude towards the uninsured is a complete about-face from the rhetoric that she and the Democrats used in pushing for the massive legislation in 2009-10. Then, Democrats bombarded Americans with heart-wrenching stories--many of them false, particularly those told by President Barack Obama--about the 30, 40, or 50 million people without health insurance. Those who pointed to research that over 40 percent of the uninsured were "voluntary" were dismissed as heartless corporate shills or racists.

Today, Pelosi tells us that the uninsured deserve our contempt because they impose a cost on all of us when they show up injured or ill in the hospital. They are "free riders," she said, and the new taxes in Obamacare are needed to solve the problems they create. That almost sounds like a conservative argument--but it does not explain why the health insurance system has to be overhauled for the other 300-million-plus Americans.

The truth is that Pelosi does not care about the uninsured. Nor does she care about raising taxes, which she is happy to do. And the wealthy, insider-trading Pelosi surely does not believe her rhetoric about how House Republicans who plan to repeal Obamacare are mere tools of the insurance industry. What her remarks reveal is the true agenda of Obama and the Democrats: control of health care, of the economy, of the lives of others.

In light of the above

It should be noted it was PUSSYPELOSI that said PEEPS could stop working and play music with OBAMACARE

What a CUNT!

I thought it was an accurate statement. What would you call it when the Chief Justice decides to amend the government's case and uphold it on a point of contention they and the President swore up and down didn't exist?

It's true I never attended law school. I know in your mind this precludes my right to an opinion, but I'm going to post it anyway, your hate for it notwithstanding. So go ahead and disparage it all you want, don't expect me to give a shit though.

Just a note to the esteemed barrister in our midst:

Of the 112 Supreme Court members, only 47 have held degrees from accredited law schools; 18 attended law school, but never attained a degree; and 47 were self-taught and/or went through an apprenticeship.

Obamacare as ‘Play or Pay’

By James C. Capretta

Today’s Supreme Court decision raises some interesting questions about how Obamacare will operate in the real world.

The Court held that the individual mandate is constitutional only because it really isn’t an obligation on citizenship after all. Rather, it is constitutional because the federal government is simply imposing a new tax on households that decline to sign up with government-endorsed health insurance.

Now, some might think this is a distinction without a difference. And that may be so. But, at least in the world of “behavioral economics,” it is potentially a distinction with a very big difference.

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) and others have suggested that the presumed mandatory obligation to buy health insurance would be a very powerful motivator for those who today choose to remain uninsured to purchase coverage, even though the “penalty” they must pay is generally far less than the premiums for even bare-bones health insurance. In other words, the CBO assumes these people will go along with the program because everyone else is going along with it and, well, it’s the “right thing to do.”

This was always a dubious assumption, as it presumes people will act against their own self interests. But it would seem even less plausible now because the Supreme Court, in its language today, has made it clear that the mandate cannot be viewed as a mandate at all; it’s just an optional tax that citizens can pay in lieu of securing health insurance.

But if that’s what it really is, is it still reasonable to assume that millions upon millions of people would rather pay high premiums instead of the much less expensive tax? Because, under Obamacare, they can always pay the tax for a while and get health insurance later when they need it.

And, if large numbers of Americans choose to pay the tax and not premiums, then Obamacare really isn’t a “universal coverage” program after all.

The bottom line here is that words still have meaning, in politics as well as law. Obamacare was constructed on the assumption, with the CBO’s blessing, that something approximating “universal coverage” could be achieved if insurance enrollment was made obligatory for citizens and legal residents in the United States. The Court now says that Congress can’t make it obligatory but can tax those who don’t participate. Those who issued the ruling today may not think there is a big difference in practice, but there very well could be.

once the above is known

taht the tax is LESS than the cost of insurance

and

you can ALWAYS get insurance AFTER the fact

I predict

MORE AMERICANS WILL OPT OUT OF INSURANCE AND PAY THE TAX....and SAVE MONEY AND GET INSURANCE ONLY OF THEY GET SICK

That will lead to huge losses at insurance companies and yet another LAW to close the loophole

YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST

too long out there

means nothing today

I predict, millions will stop insurance and pay the tax and get insurance after the fact

WATCH!

Ok what if you don't file a tax return:confused:

Assuming

You have to and dont, you will have other problems

Everyone has to file one, even if they DONT pay any tax

Unless you are illegal or a COLORED, that would make you a SAINT and eligible for MILLIONS in aid:)

That’s just the tip of the iceberg, Twitchy has more…

every person MUST have insurance

doesnt matter if you work or not

So there will be people whom the government starves and puts out of their homes, and are forced to run naked so they don't illegally go without health insurance, proving to Democrats that food, clothing and shelter are no longer the primary needs for survival, they're only needs until somebody else preempts your survival needs you to pay for their healthcare, so they can claim nobody gets to 'freeload'...... outstanding .... and those healthcare needs of a penis pump (Pos-T-Vac is a part B expense), or Viagra is more important than food clothing and shelter...

A scenario:

Let's say a man is employed, and receives HC benefits for the first 3 months of the year. But due to Obama's anti-business climate, his company conducts a RIF, and he loses his job. He finds another five month contract job after going wthout either job or insurance for two months, but there is a two month waiting period to qualify for benefits. At the end of his contract, he is again looking for both work and benefits.

Does he pay the IRS penalty tax?

As I heard it this afternoon the IRS has no teeth to compel collection of the tax. I suspect they can keep your income tax refund, but they cant garnish wages or grab your assets or toss you in jail.

Should be seeing a lot of people changing their withholdings to make sure they don't become beholden to the government to refund their overpayment, but will elect to pay in so they don't get screwed by having the money in gov't hands begging for them to return what is not theirs to keep.

This looks like a lot of fun. I think I'll come back when the RW caucus unbunches their knickers:rolleyes:

If you can't afford your mortgage payments and face forclosure, and you can't afford groceries, nor clothing, the government, especially the IRS is NOT going to worry one fig about that, and will garnish and confiscate people out of the basic needs of life to support ObamaCare. They already do confiscations without regard to life needs, now it will be IRS confiscations on steroids.
