We all hate certain words. I hate several, including "panties" and "vegan". What are your most hated words?

gash (when used as a crudity and not as a reference to injury)

Does anybody actually say that?
a few. it's a little outdated now, though.

as a lover of language, it's more the misuse of certain words i despise - a word is a word is a word, and there are very few i'd find flat-out ugly if used in the right context.

Don't you hate when people say "literally" when they mean "figuratively"? Like when you hear some bimbo say "my jaw literally hit the floor" or some stupid thing like that.

hate's too strong a word. but it makes me e-roll my eyes like i'm having a fit.

clichés drive me crazy, mostly if i find myself guilty of using them

As a firm supporter of vegans that wear panties, I no longer like you.

Words or phrases I don't like:
  1. Politician
  2. Televangelist
  3. Global warming
  4. Gluten-free

Words or phrases I do like.
  1. Yummy
  2. Fresh
  3. Pleasing
  4. Chocolate
  5. Dwarf tossing

People that bug me.

  1. Use political terms and don't know what the terms mean.
  2. LOL at their own jokes.
  3. Think twinkees are a food group.
  4. Think vegans shouldn't wear panties.

I'm vegan, and though I don't wear panties, I don't have anything against them. I just hate the words used to describe them.

But in what camp are you in regarding twinkees and gluten-free? Answer carefully, I'll be judging you.
