Obama Care, How Will Be Judged On Thursday?

I've got money on a 6-3 against the mandate and only the mandate.
Not the best of odds, but a nice return.

That would be a not well-thought out opinion since the mandate is the funding solution, well, that and double counting the half-trillion dollar cut to Medicare...

;) ;)

That would be encouraging, were it to happen.

I wouldn't have put money on a 6-3 vote, but I hope you win.

A hundred dollars says it goes my way.

No worries, because if I lose the bet I lose a lot more than a hundred dollars, anyway.

Deal? You have until 10am EDT.

If you had followed the antics of Throb and U_D as well as my discussions on advanced stats, you know I don't bet.

Now, if you want a gentleman's agreement, the loser must spend a week answering each and every busybody post with something more substantial than a:

?? Deal? :D :D :D (To begin on the morrow and you must be here every day for a minimum of 30 minutes.)

If it's unconstitutional, what it might have funded is irrelevant.

They're supposed to judge based on law, not what's expedient.

That silly attempt to portray law enforcement officers asking for ID as Nazis cracks me the fuck up. There's no "papers, please," anymore, it's "can you show me some identification?"

We're beyond "papers." — Now, it's a plastic card with a magnetic strip that has all sorts of information about you on it that you lack the ability to even read.

Hitler would have drooled over the system we have now.

We're forfeiting a huge commercial bonanza with the illegals. They pay thugs bazillions for abuse, treachery, and abandonment. Why not open welcome centers at the popular crossing places! Sell them burgers, Orange Julius, maps, and bus tickets to Detroit. Maybe build a casino/lounge for while they wait.

Are you kidding! Hitler did as I suggest. If a Jew had the money he went to Auschwitz first class with Pullmans, dining cars, and all the trimmings. Many did.

In fact, what we oughta do is sell transportation/accommodations to the illegals, from home to Detroit, non-stop.

I'm banking on one of the broads surprising.

Also because the political theatre that follows would be world class.

What law?

Original law or the evolving law of Precedent and the "Living constitution?"

I say, they vote with the desires of their class and the slaves who fawn upon them for security.

Chicken.

I don't have time to waste with pussy-wagers with chickens.

Put your money where your mouth is, or shut it.

They are there because they are leaders of their class and true ideologues.

To budge them would be tantamount to moving a Missourah mule...

It just don't happen once he's gone on strike.

Exactly. They'll take out the engineand leave a broken machine. But that's the legislators' job to then either fix or scrap the machine.

Let us pray that they remember the faint echo of Montesquieu's words:

"The government should not force a way upon the people against their will, for to do so is tyranny by legislation. “There are two sorts of tyranny: a real one, which consists in the violence of the government, and one of opinion, which is felt when those who govern establish things that run counter to a nation’s way of thinking”

Two judges care about Libertarianism.

The others are guardians of their class, their status (their court), and the Federal Government.

Yes. But I think we're entitled to expect them not to pass into law such a flawed machine in the first place, and waste three years and billions of dollars over something that was potentially doomed from the start.

Being intoxicated by the Nitrous Oxide of the mantra "Hope and Change" is no excuse for abandoning reason in legislation.

Naaah. Libs are committed Kool Aid drinkers. But its common for them to use disguises to get on the court. They fooled Poppy Bush every time.
