I was hoping I could get advice from fellow females on how to be confident enough to wear a bikini. I wear tankini's but all my friends ask 'why don't wear bikinis?' I really want to, how did you manage the first time you wore one?
I can post photos online but out in the real world, being looked at makes me very shy. I have lived a pretty sheltered life, so it's probably that. I'm going on holiday in just over a month, by the beach, I was hoping to do it then.

Bikini/tankini.... does it honestly matter if you are more comfortable in a tankini? So wear a tankini! Is someone gonna shoot you if you do?

Yes, you're right.... But I've always wanted to, I think it'll be a start of a new me, more confident. It's funny, I know but I don't want to be this awkward, shy girl. If that makes sense?

Judging from your Am pics thread, you would look better in a bikini than most I see when we go south every winter. It's a confidence thing, my wife who is 47 and looks great doesn't have a perfect body but when she was younger and technically had a better body wouldn't wear one. Today she does, she's more confident, I love it when she does, for her the key is fit in the bottoms.

The greatest thing about going to a beach on holiday is that nobody knows you, and you can wear that bikini, strut your stuff! You're there to have fun and relax, believe me, you'll get plenty of looks. Just go out there and lie on the towel for a while if you wish, then walk down to the water and smile, knowing you're teasing the hell out of those guys! Have fun with it, and from what I've just seen of your photos, you should be proud no matter what. The more you smile and have fun, the more attention you attract because you are comfortable. Go for it, knock em' dead!

Sorry, I'm not a girl and I know that's sort of your target audience with this tread, but here is my two pence.

I looked at your pic thread and I sure didn't expect that. Your body is amazing and I think you should do the world a favour and wear a bikini. I know I'd have no problem with it. There are a lot of girls who I would like to see in a less revealing bathing suit. You are not one of them. You've certainly got the assets.

Agreed!

SolusX, take both, also take a baggy shirt. Wear the tankini and be comfortable, when you muster the courage to try the bikini you can put on the baggy shirt and change. You've got a great body, showing it off is nothing to be ashamed of.

Forget both the tankini and the bikini and wear that Dragon Age game case. ;)

Yeah, I'll try this. Slowly muster the courage, then hopefully I'll just do it.

Thanks everyone, I don't mid guys answering. I guess it makes sense, I didn't realise I could just ask guys what they'd think of me wearing one. But it seems good.

Haha, yeah... I'm not exactly shy, I can talk to anyone but when it comes to getting attention from guys.. i get awkward, unless it's online? It's weird.

I'm majorly body shy too - although I have to say, I recently posted some pics on the Amateur Pic feed and that made me feel a heck of a lot better, people are so nice - but I wear a bikini because it's more comfortable. And I just think about how comfortable I am physically rather than letting myself get worked up mentally about where all my fat is stored =) That's just my personal thing... it works for the most part. Don't know if it will help you or not... but the main thing is to just make sure that you're comfortable, and sometimes physical comfort will help with the mental.

You look hot! Anyway, I for one am too busy worrying about my own body at the beach to be criticizing anyone else. If I look at anyone it would be like "man I wish I could look like that..." or wondering where they bought the suit.

Girl just go for it. Looked at some of your AM pics and you have nothing to worry about.
You will have both guys and girls admiring you. The main thing I like about the beach is that you are one in a thousand so you can actually hide in the crowd so to speak.
Gather up the courage and just go for it. You won't be disappointed like you would be if you never tried. Besides like someone already mentioned you can always change back if you feel uncomfortable.

Thankyou everyone, this has given me alot more insight. I'll just do it one of these days and enjoy it, like it's been said, there are alot of other girls in bikinis... It doesn't seem as much as a big deal as it was. We shall see

Good luck. Oh, and we'll be needing some photographic evidence ... ;)

(just kidding):rose:

You are GORGEOUS!!! IMO you have absolutely nothing to be shy about (other than the probable need to be beating those in lust with you away with large sticks).

Master pointed this thread out to me with his usual rant about tragically skinny women vs. those with luscious curves. You are perfect, we both agree. (I asked if I could have you for my birthday. :rose:)

Even if I did have your figure, I'd likely annoy everyone with a one-piece, so don't fret. I'm not the beach-type. Sand is what you have to walk on to get to the water, for me. (I think I was a seal in a past life.) I don't know how to swim in a two-piece.

I just checked out your pics...Damn girl!! If your bod was any hotter you would spontaneously combust! If you're insecure about what guys would think,... don't be! You are gorgeous, but do whatever you are comfortable with......but know that every guy on the beach will be lusting after you, no matter what you wear!! :D

If wearing the bikini is your goal, why do you want the goal to be the first step?

Nobody stops you from wearing other revealing clothes first that make you feel less uncomfortable than a bikini and make you get used to attention.

I think it's like doing anything for the first time, you'll have those jitters. But once you put it on and step out you become more comfortable.

I bought one :D

I tried it on before, of course and had my friend to judge if it looked alright. I'm excited to try it on when I go to the beach in a few months. Thanks for that push peoples, it helped!

We all need to see...lol :D

I've gone out in a bikini exactly once in my life. I felt too naked. But that was some time ago, when wearing a bikini was equated with hanging out a "grope me" sign. I guess things are different now, when we see more skin than that on network TV.

But I have to add that I went out with another girl who was also new to bikinis, and we gave each other a lot of moral support. So that may be a way to help break the ice.

You're beautiful :rose: Hold your head high and take a big stick - You'll need it to beat people off with.

Also, try telling yourself how beautiful you are every day! I've done it for so long I have to tell myself frequently that I'm really not all that and then some. If you have confidence in yourself, others pick up on that.

The sexiest thing a woman can wear is confidence.

Take time to really shop for ones that you love and you feel looks good on you. Expensive does not always mean better, but don't penny pinch. If it makes you feel beautiful, that's the vibe you will exude--it will be in your eyes and the way you move.
