Damn you Tentation

Tentation is an apple that was bred in France by the Delbard Nursery group, who are famous for their rose breeding programme. It is a modern take on Golden Delicious with the traditional distinctive golden yellow colour, with a fine pink-orange blush.

Most importantly, the Tentation apple has a unique taste that once experienced will not be forgotten. The main distinguishing feature of Tentation is its unique flavour and floral fragrance, with note of hazelnut and a hint of menthol. The flavour is described as both rich and subtle, with its high sugar level being balanced by acidity providing a very special, sweet and tangy eating experience. It is exceptional in texture, being firm, tangy and very juicy.

While traditionally apple varieties that cook well are not good eating apples. Tentation challenges that theory by being excellent eaten fresh, while also considered one of the very best apples for cooking. The fruit holds its shape and flavour well when cooked, so can be used for desserts and baking.

Tentation is only grown in New Zealand to provide fruit domestically and to the Northern Hemisphere from June to September

You can if you want. You have plenty to work with.

Has anyone every tried a lychee?

I love lychees :)
I make a lychee tartlet that's just awesome.
Mind you, about 80% of my total diet is fruits and veges, so I eat a lot of exotics like dragonfruit and starfruit and lychees.

I need to get some more of those! It's been years. As for me, I'd say about 100% of my diet consists of fruits and vegetables. Do you eat them fresh or canned?

It doesn't seem all that "exotic" when I can buy it at my local grocery store, but I like making dragon fruit smoothies - something about pink drinks make me happy.

I see a lot of dragon fruits, but lychees are hard to find.

Because of where I live, fruits and vegetables are very seasonal.
We only get the so-called 'exotic' stuff a short time of the year.
When I lived overseas, I had all of them pretty much daily.
Ironically, it was things like oranges, apples and pears that were called exotic then!

Apart from what I grow, I buy fresh from the farmers market 3 times a week.
I like my fruit and veg as raw and natural as it can be.
Where do you live that you can't get fresh?

I sure as hell don't live in West Lamar, wherever that is. Don't they still hunt heads there? Anyway, I live in America. It's hard to even find the canned ones.
