Lit Libs It's All About Free Speech, Call Your Offices...

Excellent, guaranteeing us the continuation of the best representation money can buy.

personally i think this is a terrible idea, and a terrible interpretation of free speech.

sigh

If you were an American I'd ask what you had against the First Amendment.

You're the one always crying about how state's rights are being trampled all over, apart from when it suits your corporate masters to trample all over them. Why is that?

If you were an American I'd ask what you had against the First Amendment.

I have nothing against the first amendment. I also think corporations are not citizens and citizens united was one of the most goddawful judicial decisions since that chick said to Solomon, "here's the axe, mofo."

Back in the day, Montana was essentially owned by out-of-state mining tycoons. Its campaign finance law was created to address their outsize influence, and it stood even as the state became a good deal more conservative.

They learned a century ago what the rest of us are going to spend the next however many years learning.

Just another example of Washington know-it-alls substituting their own judgment for the wisdom of the states!

Do you think it's ok for unions to donate to political campaigns?

Individuals should have the right to donate, corporations should not, and that includes unions.

And if you werent so busy gloating because dems dont like this, I think you'd agree.

Why can't corporations not have the right:confused:

Your saying to a corporation fuck you deal with the law's we pass you can't have a say in it.

honestly i'd be happy if the only donations allowed were individual, and capped at a certain percentage of income or net worth.

unions shouldn't be allowed to contribute any more than any other large entity. but again, those entities, whether corporations or unions or pacs or whatever, are made up of individuals so that goes back to my previous line.

the more money that's pumped into campaigns, the uglier the effect. would it hurt to have less money involved?

Contrary to the current law, corporations are not people, they do not have the same rights as people.

Citizens United simply widened the already open door, to allowing our elected officials to be bought and paid for. All you RW nuts are always whining about voter fraud. This is an actual issue, a real problem.

All politicians are bough.
This isn't a problem it's free speech.
If companies can't give money to help what ever they do know what's going to happen there going to move where they can.

If you don't like it tough fucking shit... you have to take it to the Supreme Court and have them reverse their previous position and set new precedent. Till then Citizens United v. FEC is the final word. Fuck right or wrong amirite!!!!:D

Corporations have a right to free speech!
