4 dead, 30 wounded in weekend Chicago violence intensifying search for answers.

(CBS/AP) CHICAGO - Two teenage boys - ages 13 and 14 - were among four people killed, and at least 30 others were wounded in shootings in Chicago over the weekend, CBS Chicago reports. The weekend incidents highlight a disturbing trend that makes the streets of the Windy City even deadlier than Kabul, Afghanistan.

While 144 Americans have died in Afghanistan in 2012, 228 Chicago residents have been killed. The murder rate is up 35 percent from last year, a rash of homicides that quadruples New York City's rate and doubles Los Angeles' rate.

There is a huge increase in crime, esp. abnormal crimes, in Chicago right now, although the media and politicians are down playing it because its spilling over into tourists areas. Its wilding type crimes, not even for profit, just for fun. Not just gang on gang crimes anymore either.

Minneapolis is still much safer, although the Nicollette Mall was having some serious mob crimes of that sort recently, and there was that riot at MOA. Our papers are not currently downplaying our crimes so that is a big difference.
