Everyone here seems to love movies and TV shows. Discussions on the GB about movies and TV shows seems to rank a close 2nd to politics. No rules, just thought I would give it a go!

Project X, funny movie, even better soundtrack!

They don't throw parties like that anymore....

I talked up A Lonely Place to Die here a couple of weeks ago. Got a few lookers but no comments.
It was never released here in theaters. I saw it on one of the premium movie channels and have it stored on my DVR now.
Two chilling bad guys - one of them is the geologist in Prometheus - and a solid plot line about some hikers in Scotland finding a kidnapped girl buried out in the sticks.
If you're interested, the only time I can find it coming up is on a Showtime channel, identified on Dish as Shoto, on channel 320 at 9:15 p.m. PDT Tuesday.

Ah, I saw that movie! It wasn't too shabby.

I was watching J.J. Abram's "Star Trek" the other day. Uh-gain. How did I miss the beginning where the enlisted guy was sucked into outer space and splattered on the Enterprise?

Watched 'Rock of Ages' tonight!

Is there anything Tom Cruise cannot do?

He turns 50 on July 3rd!

This film was mostly shot here in South Florida, not Cali. The entire club scenes were filmed at The Revolution (my Cult threads, yeah, there) by the New River in Fort Lauderdale.

Real fast, it's the musical you've been waiting for all your life. I don't know why there was so much Pat Benetar but there was. And Journey. Ugh.

All that tongueing cracked me up.

And Brett Butler has returned to the screen in Charlie Sheen's "Anger Management". I always loved that gal.:)

Magic Mike---saw it with the wife....sucked bawls. Even she said so. Though she did laugh some and enjoyed the 3some hints. Which I thought was kinda cool that she did so. May hafta really explore this aspect. Anyway. Fucking waste of money.

Ted? Holy fuck! I never seen the previews until yesterday. I am definitely going to see that tommorow.

Saw "Spider Man" with my hubby the other day. For a "remake", it was pretty well done. Thought the kid playing Spider Man was better than Tobey McGuire, which was a hard thing to admit...love Tobey. Now, just a couple weeks to the Bat-fest!! Trying to talk the hubby into seeing the Batman marathon that day. :)

"Ted" was pretty cool. Not quite as good as I thought it would be, but some seriously hilarious moments. Definitely a good bit of funny tough guy stuff throughout. And, if any guy here ever had a teddy bear, there is one part where your eyes might water a bit. Couple of funny gay guy scenario cameos that will surprise you if you recognize the actors. Good guy vs bad guy stuff. Narrating at beginning and end is a bit of a surprising, funny twist in your traditional fairytale way. I liked the way Ted was brought into real life interaction with everyday people as if everyone already knew him. Not just a figment of someone's imagination.

Nice to know. I am a typical 'gotta see the superhero movie' type guy. When we got to the theaters to see "Ted", we almost changed our minds to see "Spider Man". None of us wanted to see it in 3D though. "Ted" was not as good as I hoped, but definitely worth the trip.

Cut and paste:

"Last Resort" will debut on ABC this fall. A drama series about a renegade submarine crew. The show is about the renegade crew of a United States Navy Ohio-class ballistic missile submarine, the fictional USS Colorado (SSBN-753), that defies an order to launch nuclear missiles towards Pakistan, a decision that cost the previous commanding officer his job when he refused to follow similar orders without an explanation or confirmation. When his replacement also questions the same orders, the vessel is fired upon without warning and the crew are left for dead. Realizing that they have been declared enemies of their own country, they set up camp on the fictional island of Sainte Marina, and declare themselves a sovereign nation with nuclear capability. At the same time, the crew must find a way to prove their innocence and find out who set them up so that they can return home.
