What's the best Career move you ever made? Maybe it was switching careers, extra training, getting a degree to get a promotion, completely switching careers, starting your own business. What was it?

The best career move I ever made was being born to two circus freaks who concocted magical potions to turn each of their children into mutant beasts with curious powers. My special power is that I'm an albino dwarf with a radio show.

But how did you make ends meet?

Depends on what you mean by career.

I quit a six figure paying job with pretty much lifetime guaranteed emplyment and good promotion prospects and went back to uni to get my second degree. Then I started two businesses which I work about 50/50 on.

I make less, have almost no month-to-month cash flow security, and have no real prospects of either company making me rich. They're not expansive types of ventures.

But I'm not bored out of my skull anymore.

That's a good gig. Do you have like a little stool to reach up to the mike?

Yes. It is the same stool my brother uses to get into the tank where he performs tricks.

When you guys say you left lucrative careers...what did you do (you don't have to be too specific) and how did you pay the bills if you were making less money. ( I'm so fucking nosy)

I packed in corporate wage slavery to get behind the wheel of a class one and drive all over Europe. Half the money but a tenth of the aggro. Plus Im get to do fun things like barrel through Paris in the middle of the night, see Finland in January and sightsee through the Alps.

I stopped being a male prostitute and decided to become an escort.

No more street corners for me!

Flipped houses basically and was my own carpenter, electrician and finally plumber. But now I am sitting on a real estate fortune that I cannot sell...

Dear God, there was a book written about me? I should have been warned. No, no, I should have been given a portion of the proceeds. I feel so ... so ... so violated. How dare someone pen a tale of my life living among circus freaks in a close-knit cult without my knowledge or consent? There will be consequences for that. Dire consequences. I shall wield my stool as a weapon.

There's so much more to life than making ends meet and paying bills. Don't create the bills and there wont be any to pay. It's simple...

It doesn't happen overnight and it's a mindset that takes time and some effort. But it's not hard when you can look past the immediate...

1. Head of personell at a tech firm.

2. What makes you think all my money went to paying bills? Just meant I had less after bills to waste on hookers and blow. Or whatnot.

Leaving HP

Left Hewlett Package thirty years ago. Never looked back.

So funny how people are in awe of HP. I tell them that a management philosophy is no better than the manager implementing the philosophy
