A lot of Republicans agree. Aside from the Reagan landslide in 1980, the GOP won control of the Senate for the first time in 28 years.

No. Washington was exceptional. Take a closer look at FDR and Lincoln.
I have. Both were better than Washington. And I don't deny Washington was a great one, not least because he easily could have made himself king, and didn't; and he freed his slaves in his will, which was more than Jefferson did.
