From ancient Greece and Rome to the current EU, as well as the US that's barely hanging by a thread.....all traced back to the gov getting to big and collapsing under it's own weight either through costly economic or social corruption/oppression.

Bad juju could be said for lack of government also. Not enough and things don't develop. But that hasn't collapsed a major power yet, it just keeps the party from getting started....it's ALWAYS an overbearing gov that ends it. So personally I think there is a fine balance...that being said however I think when the gov quits protecting people and starts micromanaging peoples lives in ways that have nothing to do with public safety and everything to do with generating money.....gone to far left.

Considering we have so many federal laws alone they can't even count them, tax code so loopy and vast no one actually understands how it works and business start up's at an all time low b/c the pile of gov fee's and permits makes start up's harder than ever, I feel we are hanging by an economic thread. One more bubble, upset or even scandal and it could very easily KILL the US economy.

We are imprisoning more people than ever, we are taxing winners to support failures more than ever, and the gov is hostile towards business's large and small more than ever, the US's gov is too big for it's britches and when they finally chase off business all together our privileged 1st world lives are going to shit the bed, mark my words.

We need to eliminate corporate welfare/bloated gov budgets and regulate the shit out of public welfare as well. I think term limits and banning of lobbying would be a great start to ending bull shit spending/corporate welfare which is a HUGE part of the problem. The 1% should not be getting additional gov. hand outs.

But then again nothing I say will change a leftist economic views of "I know the gov put us in this situation but they will fix it, just tax the rich until they are fucking destitute and their companies are bankrupt!!!!!! YEA!!! it will be a party wheeew!!! gov money fixes everything!!"

But I was also making it clear that while I would love anarchy/skeletal gov it's just not a great idea for most and wont happen until we get called on our bills and can't pay up. Or Z day...which I often pray will happen at any moment.
